Absolutely correct, it will take effort and time to fully integrate Tracy McGrady into this style of play, and to integrate this style of play into Tracy McGrady. This all hinges on the willingness of Rick Adelman.
You're in the running for stupid statement of the year with that. LOL Please, tell me how everyone else makes it into an active rotation. I don't remember Rick just deciding Carl Landry should get twenty six minutes a night. Carl earned his minutes by impressing the coaches in practice and then impressing them even more in short minutes. That's how it's done, my dense friend.
Remember Wizards GM Michael Jordan got rid of Juwan Howard's 100 million dollar contract. It can be done.
I am sure you meant 35 seconds/game during which he could score 13pts I really want this mess to end ASAP, i am tired of all of She-Mac stuff. He got what he chose, that's sad story. However this is the fact. Wish him well. Hope he will get next contract with 10-12m/year not in Houston. Good luck
LOL, you may need to go back and watch games becasue I can assure you they got way more then playing the last 7 minutes of the first quarter. Listen, this team knew at the beginning of the season that they didnt want Tracy anymore and they knew that 7 minutes was enough time to prove anything. They are simply just ready to part ways and I say if thats the case then just get it over with.
I hope this is true, but I'd rather keep him here. But if he leaves, I hope he goes somewhere where he'll be able to show his value, and i hope he'll be happy wherever he goes.
fixed it there for you the coach isnt a problem, Rick Adelman is a HOF-caliber coach who has coached numerous all-stars and HOFs all of whom have had nothing but praise for the coach and that he caters to the players. There are 12 players on the team he has to coach all 12 if players 1-11 all fit into a certain type of game and has won without player #12 then by pure logic thats the style they should keep and player #12 should adapt not players 1-11 adapt to satisfy one player. this applies to everyone not just mcgrady...when Yao comes back Yao will have to adapt to the uptempo style but I am pretty sure he will. (sort of fit in how Kareem did with the show time lakers..start the break with the outlet and then post up if an early transition basket is not there)
2 things bug me about all this: 1. Anyone else concerned about how other big name players might view playing for the Rockets after having several players leave on "bad terms" in recent years (i.e. Jim Jackson, Mike James, Stromile Swift, T-Mac)? 2. If messing up team chemistry is the main reason T-Mac is being held out of the lineup, what do they think will happen when T-Mac is traded for either an influx of young talent (i.e. Randolph) or proven veterans (i.e. J. O'Neal, Kevin Martin) or both?
Excluding T-Mac, all these dudes are the most traded players in NBA history. Jimmy Jackson? Mike James? Stromile!!? come on dude.
well lets suppose tmac doesn't want to resign here over the summer: the rockets must get something for him or face losing him for nothing... not even cap space. there may not be a pau gasol deal out there, but whatever the rockets get is better than nothing. i have full faith that he will be traded by the deadline.
Yeah, check 2008 playoffs. Portland victory. Oh check out 90s Portland Trailblazers, Kevin Duckworth and Buck Williams. They weren't exactly gazelles. Guess who their coach was? NBA History.. It's FANTASIC!
has any of these players really done much after leaving the rockets? James had a good season in toronto scoring wise but after he was traded again he hasnt done much if anything at all (didnt washington sign EARL BOYKINS over playing james this year?) the only big name here is mcgrady and i dont know if any team out there wants him right now for his basketball talent (at his current price) next year he will be sought after heavily if he is willing to take a MLE type deal but i doubt it
In attempting to repair my post, you committed a similar error as I. It will require a coming together of both Tracy McGrady and Rick Adelman in order to achieve an ideal situation that puts T-Mac AND the rest of them team in a position to succeed. These same issues will be evident with Yao Ming's return, and will cause additional friction, much like it did last season when Adelman was meddling with Yao's positioning.
I just wonder what the thinking was that made the bring him back at all. 8MPG isn't enough to show potential trade partners anything. If that was the intention they should have never activated him to begin with. IMO you're better off letting team think they could get "Tmac" instead of this old, hobbled version of Tracy McGrady...
Here...I'll finish what Adelman was saying by modifying his quote: “I’ve got to be careful because our team is on kind of a bubble,” Adelman said. “If we start changing the rotation, we start changing the way we play, it changes the whole chemistry of the team...and we wouldn't want to change the chemistry of this team because we are a bona fide contender as we are and a chemistry change could ruin this team's chances at winning a championship.”
