I like where you're going with this. The Wizards obviously are melting down, and are starting to think their team isn't working well together. Do something to get Caron Butler. I say we offer them T-Mac and Battier (as much as I hate to say it) for Caron Butler, Mike Miller, and Brendan Haywood. Butler's a pretty good go to scorer, not elite level, but dependable. Miller will knock down the outside shots and can rebound very well for a guard and Haywood is just another big bruiser. The Wizards get T-Mac's expiring contract, and a proven leader in Battier. Throw in a 2nd rounder if we need to.
WOW...the Paul idea sounds VERY intriguing. I mean Peja and Songaila's contracts are both up after after next yr so wouldn't be a long term hit but James Posey's deal runs another yr at about 6 million...ughhhh. I guess for Chris Paul it might need to happen though.
I would love to see it go down, but you might need Chris Wallace to be really drunk to pull that off.
I see that you've taken the time to post this trade twice. I really don't mean to sound like a jerk, but WHY would Washington do this??? This trade will actually COST the Wizards an additional $8.5M in salary and luxury tax this season. Washington's goal in any trade of Butler would be to SAVE money. Also, next year, the Wizards save themselves only $3M but their SF position drops from Caron Butler to Shane Battier. Again, no disrespect intended. But take a closer look at the dollars involved when proposing trades with teams that need the money.
sorry to hear that, all bias aside, the guy does everything, he scores, not much but he doesn't shoot that much either, he rebounds, blocks shots, steals... basically plays both sides of the court. he can play 3 positions, guard 3 positions. we also get either miles, brewer, or brewer + koufos with mac's expiring. or just let mac's contract expire.

3 Way... Rockets get: J. Jeffries from NYK C. Mobley from NYK A. Randolph from GSW C. Maggette from GSW Pros: Get Mobley's insurance paid last year contract, Randolph, Maggette to add a scoring punch to our wings, lose Cook and McGrady and rid ourselves of Dorsey's little contract blunder. We may not get under the LT with this trade but Mobley's 7+million (of his 9m) insurance paid contract takes the sting out of being over this year while next year we should be under LT. If Scola gets a offer too high, we start Landry and bring Randolph off the bench - and we don't have to give up a future 3rd round pick to get him. Cons: Take on Jeffries' contract and Maggette's contract. Jeffries is only 1 more year. Maggette's is longer but personally I like Maggette's scoring punch on the wing. New York Knicks get: T. McGrady from Houston B. Cook from Houston J. Dorsey from Houston J. Taylor from Houston Pros: Go after 2 max players in 2010 while unloading 2 DNP-CDs. Cons: Lose Chandler. Golden State Warriors get: N. Robinson from NYK D. Milicic from NYK W. Chandler from NYK Pros: Get a backup PG to rest Monta, a 7 foot C in his last year and trade Maggette's contract for Chandler's. Cons: Lose Randolph.
Houston: Ginobili + rights to Tiago Splitter + rights to Nando De Colo + KT Sacramento: $3M + Bonner (to be bought out) + Finley (to be bought out) + Mason San Antonio: McGrady * Rockets get under LT and get the rights to Tiago Splitter. It's a bonus if Ginobili performs well enough for an extension. * Kings basically make a $2.2M profit + savings from buyouts from trading Kenny Thomas and helping to facilitate this trade. * Bonner is out for at least for a month with a broken hand. He is able to re-sign with the Spurs after 30 days if bought out. *Spurs would be trading none of their non-injured starters. Ginobili's avg a career low FG%. Mason has been downright terrible this season in half of the the games he's played. Brooks, Lowry Ariza, Ginobili, Taylor Battier, Budinger, Cook Scola, Landry, KT, Dorsey Hayes, Andersen, Yao Parker, Hill Bogans, McGrady Jefferson, Finley (re-signed after buyout), Hairston Duncan, Blair, Haislip Bonner (re-signed after buyout), McDyess, Ratliff
