Post-recession along with post-Katrina I'm guessing. Texas is one of the few states that didnt totally go down the toilet in the recession "hurricane". Could be people from all over heading to Texas for opportunity, not just New Orleans.

That's a good thing, because the initial response you posted used at a maximum 1/14758000th of your ass...and even less of your brain. I witnessed first-hand how Katrina rapidly brought about the Sharpstownification of a wide swath of West Houston, some would call that statement racist, others would call it realism.
Facts are facts I agree with everyone saying Katrina has had to do with the rise in crimes in Houston. I don't care if they are black, white, brown, yellow..the people are the main reason and that is no way racist
