[Houston Chronicle] McGrady to sit out next two Rockets games

You know, your opinion about McGrady is firmly established, to say the least. A zygote whose mother was near a computer would know how you feel about McGrady, for crying out loud.

Excuse me? Start following the team in 2008? I've been following the Rockets 5 years now. When I was trying to find a team it was between Orlando and the Rockets. I remember Hakeem from the little NBA we got here, but McGrady was my favorite NBA player at the time.

My favorite player ended up in a team I was considering supporting and that was that.

If Tracy got traded tomorrow, I would still be a Rockets fan.

First you judge someone's Basketball knowledge based on a label under their username and now how long they have supported a team based on a forum join date. Next you will judge someone as a fan based on how long they have supported the team.

You even judged my Basketball knowledge based on where I'm from. Our Country sucks at Basketball because all the young talent that grows up with the game turns to Aussie Rules Football instead.

That is my rant. DD, you are a sad man.

What would happen if the organization decided that Tmac did not fit anymore and they just sent him home, would you support the team then?

Because that is what Rocket fans would do.

Well sure, I mean if you have been a fan of 5 years, only because Tmac joined, then you are not really as knowledgeable as a lot of other Rocket fans.

It will be interesting to see what happens next. If there isn't a deal to be made quickly, I really don't think Tracy will want to sit out indefinitely. He might sulk a few days, but he'll agree to play ball, so to speak.

 

IMO, they are breaking him down mentally...........

The Rockets hold all the cards and they know it.

Tracy has to conform, or he doesn't get to play, and that is disasterous in a contract season.

He will probably go through all the emotions.

Anger, saddness, depression, then acceptance.

If he ever gets to acceptance, and decides to bust his butt on the floor and play the team game, he could help, but right now, he is just not there, and others are playing better.

It is a meritocracy, coach Adelman will play the guys that will help out the most.....and right now that does not include Tracy.

And the one thing Tmac consistently does is whine to the media, which is doing exactly the opposite of what he wants it to do......he has to learn a new way of doing things.

Shut up, and play hard.

I would still support the team, but I would not support the decision. You don't have to agree with every decision to be a supporter.

Are you that stupid? Everyone has a different reason to start supporting a team. Some do it because of where they live, some pick based on colors, players or who their family supports. Unfortunately I don't live in Houston, my parents don't watch Basketball. SO what was my option? The players! Tracy was my favorite at the time, he ended up in Houston, so I choose the Rockets.

In that short time, I've learned the history of this club ad don't regret sporting them.

I have my true views on McGrady, but I got feed up with the blind, biased hatred. SO I decided to be as extreme the other way.

Yeah but you have failed to research exactly why many people have been fed up with him.

You labled many people as simply haters, when you did not bother to figure out why those of us who are as die hard Rocket fans as you are, made the decision that he had to go.

This was not a willy nilly decision, at least for me, it has built up over time and culmintated in the Toronto game last year.

Read Clutch's excellent article...it touches on what a lot of us feel about him.

The guy has the most talent on the team, and the least heart, no need to let his lackadasical prima donna ways infect the new up and coming players, especially when he is gone this summer anyway.

Top that off with him not even being healthy and it just doesn't mix.

It has little to do with blogs, and everything to do with fit, and attitude.

Feel free to support him. that is cool.....I can appreciate that people think he could help, he could, I admit that, but only if he played Adelman's system...and hustled....

I doubt he ever does that...but I admit it might happen.........I just don't believe it will based upon his history as a player and person.

Oh come on, you're the one calling everyone else who objectively defends McGrady's position a groupie or whatever.

Look, I think what you need to do is take a break. Realize that opinions differ, and return once you're calm. I'm not entirely disagreeing with what you're saying, but I'm disagreeing with how you're saying it.

 

I am always calm (well almost always), just get tired of being labled so I label back.

Sorry, but when Tracy says he thinks it is time for more minutes, you go ona hating spree. He wasn't doing anything wrong. He expressed through the media what he expressed to Adelman.

Adelman said no and we are where we are.

Instead of judging it for what it is. A player who wants to play and feels like he can play more that is accepting what the Rockets want. Instead it is the evil McGrady.

 

There is no hating spree, it is all good.

The organization is doing what it should, I am just defending them for doing it.
