Ariza plays defense and runs the break.

If that really was a "showcase" the last 6 games, I doubt the Rockets have done much to help their case in terms of trading him.

    Gang,

Adelman said he would play him 6 or so games and re-evaluate from there....

This is EXACTLY what is happening.

    Why so surprised?

MarBurying McG would be the worst management of the situation - the worst. They will not turn asset management into acid management. They will not go toxic.

In TMac We Trust? Probably not, but I suspect teams are trying to low-low-low-ball the Rox and DM the GM is not dealing McGrady ala Pippen.

I believe, I really do, McGrady is an asset to the Rox. How they play this out is unknown even to me; but I believe, I really do, McGrady is being valued as an asset in Rox office.

Really?? Veteran posters on this site are supposed to be above that, and helping to get this forum back to the quality it one was. You can make a point without adding petty bs.

You don't think what they did to landry was wrong? They spread rumors saying that knee was messed up to lowball him. We will see when some of these guys become ufa.

Nobody in their right mind, will give us something significant for him.
I do think the Rockets want to trade him and also bring him up slowly in case they need him for a playoff run.

McGrady hasn't handled it the right way,and management has been forced to take this decision. I think it would have been better for both sides to sit down and try to work it out right now instead of coming back to Houston.

It's going to get ugly I'm afraid, and his expiring contract which so many like to mention isn't going to be enough to help us out. DM will get lowballed IMO.

I agree that it would be a last resort.

I think they would not Marbury him until after the trade deadline at the earliest.

And then, they would negotiate a buyout, but only if Tmac takes a lot less $$$$.....

Excellent post. I agree with all of this, except the good riddance part.

Tracy McGrady is being rehabilitated by the Rockets not only in a physical sense, but in a mental sense as well. The mental part includes learning how to play within Rick Adelman's team concept on the floor. It also includes learning how to cooperate with the Rockets team concept off of the floor. The mental components of McGrady's rehabilitation have to be more difficult for him than the physical part, however difficult that might be. He is being required to make some adjustments to his game, and to his attitude. What we are seeing here is a well thought out move designed to help him to do that.

The Rocket's are understandably pleased with the evolution of this franchise, especially with McGrady and Yao out of the line up. This has turned into an exemplary example of a "team". There are not very many comparable examples around in professional sports. Among the Rockets two superstars, Yao appears to have a cooperative attitude with Adelman regarding whatever it is the Rockets want to do. It is time for McGrady to adopt the same attitude. The Rocket's are helping him to do that.

I get the sense that this might have been a bit of an intentionally harsh response by Rocket's management, given McGrady's actions. I think Morey knows that himself, but did it on purpose anyway. He wants to communicate to Tracy that he is not going to be treated differently from anyone else going forward. Based on Tracy's response, I read that as "message received".

I am not convinced that Tracy is going to be traded. He can still add a lot to this team, and the adjustments he needs to make to his attitude are not that large. If he is traded, it will not be because most attentive Rockets fans are mad at Tracy. The Rocket's management has demonstrated they are more mature than that.

    Go Rockets!

“I criticize myself. I can take it from anybody, from everybody. I know my ability. And when I do get right, all that … is put to rest. So kick me when I’m down, because I swear to you, I’ll be back up. And when I get back up, I’m going to sit back, and I’m going to laugh, man, because I’m going to have the last laugh."

Why do so many other GMs think Rox will buy him out? They think alike, for many reasons :p :p

The only thing we will be offered for Tracy at this point is either trash players, expiring contracts of trash players, other oft injured players, or other problem child players. No draft picks either.

what did I say about the Fanhouse article??? they'r stirring the pot TMZ style, and it's sad that now it's having a real effect on the relationship between mac and management. he's fine, keep the current routine and keep playing. ignore the stupid articles.

What a disaster. Let's see how many more games of Trevor Ariza going 3-14 and dribbling the ball off his foot management can tolerate before they rethink their decision to alienate a player that's basically exactly what this current group is lacking.
