LOL ... apparently. I hope Wafer didn't get his hopes up too much that he'd be playing for the Rockets. Back issues, eh? Too bad.
Rashad McCants hasnt been paid any visits that I can recall. Mike Harris puts the roster at the full 15. Wafer can only come back if someone gets traded or cut.
Maybe after DM gets rid of cook we can have him back and he can rehab T-mac style. Both of them can play for 7 mins each and we'd have a supersub called Mcwafer that can play for exactly 14 mins. With Mcwafer and C-bud we enough guys who can backup Battriza.
Apparently our physio is going to the right direction, having an acceptable standard, or maybe increasing it. They already have their hands full of injuries, and with this current roster they don't want to have another injury prone player. Sucks though i gotta admit, but it will be even more suck if Wafer got injured and have lengthy spells at the sideline. Lets just hope Mike Harris have something useful from the bench. He have something positive for sure, but can he bring it under pressure or on a consistent basis is another matter
The only hope that I have of him coming back is when the article said, "Sources told FOX 26 the Rockets may re-visit Wafer's situation soon." So maybe we sign Harris to a 10 day contract and then sign Von when his back heals.
why are people saying they hope memphis signs him? if he failed our physical wouldn't he fail memphis's as well, or do different teams have different standards?
This suuuckkkkkksssssssssssssss!! Von would've made our team more exciting. Imagine having Mac, Ariza and Von...all flashy athletic guards. Damn it! Stupid!
as excited as getting von made me, it really didnt make sense to me without some sort of trade pending, with budinger out you would think it would just be better timing to increase mcgrady's minutes and give taylor his first rookie look in limited minutes. no reason to go out and sign a rotation player....
People need to stop trying to find drama and mysteries and stuff where there isn't anything. Wafer had some back issues when he was with the Rockets and I wouldn't doubt the fact that they have worsen. He probably is out of shape and hasn't worked out the whole time he was in Europe and until now. Memphis, a team desperate to add some talent in any stupid ways would never have passed on Wafer, even if he was the biggest ahole in the world. They did go for ZBO and AI so behavior isn't holding them back. I do believe he has some physical issues. And if he works out he'll be back somewhere. McCants is another problem, probably drugs as stated somewhere above in this thread. Reading from his twitter the guy looks pretty depresed.
Interesting. In any case, I don't expect us to land on Wafer. Wafer was originally going to sign with Grizzlies anyways, but when he failed the physical he came to us in hopes that we'll get him a contract "for old times' sake". He wasn't coming back to us, he wanted a nice contract with a team he could get a big role in.
This whole thing was a tease. Its for the best anyway I think. Im not sure how many minutes he would have gotten, and once C-Bud came back there would probably be some bickering. We dont need any more of that. But i would have loved to see him play for us. I really liked watching him pay and he was a big spark for us off the bench.
The thing I remember most about Harris is his heart and hussle. He won't make sportscenter but he will give his all on every single play. I think he is a PERFECT fit for this squad. I would much prefer him over wafer for this team. Wafer doesn't play defense, shoots too much, and plays out of control at times. Its like when Ariza hits a three and all of a sudden he thinks he's Larry Bird but bricks the next 8. Wafer drives and gets a sportscenter dunk then he thinks he's Lebron James. But he's not. Unfortunately, everyone wants him based on that one highlight dunk. I don't want him because of the 6 turnovers and 20 points scored by his assignment that follow.
