http://espn.go.com/nba/notebook/_/page/Awards-091222/awards-watch Aaron Brooks #3 for Most Improved: Carl Landry #4 for 6th Man: Rick Adelman #1 for Coach of the Year: I'll try to bump this thread weekly!
you missed battier Defensive Player of the Year Watch: 5. Rajon Rondo, Celtics and Shane Battier, Rockets: The Celtics, who are the top defensive team in the league, could probably have a trio of players on this list, but Rondo helps set the tone with his harassing defense on opposing ones.
great. i think landry should be #1 on most improved, and AB not too far behind. i mean landry is putting up insane numbers. RA being #1, well deserving.
Personally I think Landry improved more than Brooks. Also, Landry is definitely the best 6th man in terms of productions and efficiency. tl;dr: Landry is a beast.
Didn't RA say he doesn't want the coach of the year award because those coaches who receive the award always get fired?
I think Landry has to be higher for both Most Improved and Sixth Man. I might put Crawford above Landry for Sixth Man but that's it, and I can't really see who would beat out Landry for Most Improved.
I think Landry has improved more than Brooks. Brooks averaged about 17 ppg in last year's playoffs and has been a starter before that. Landry has almost doubled his scoring average and is a reliable go-to guy down the stretch.
For a guy that has been around the league for so long, I don't think any curse/jinx would affect his coaching ability. He deserves it this year.
If Adelman can find a way to let Tmac play well in his system, and the rockets rank top 4 in the WC, he will get the COY. Otherwise, he wouldn't.
if RA doesnt get coach of the year, is because the nba is mad at him for puttin them on the spot for this effed up schedual we have.
