Well, Harris played well at the 4 with the Rockets, he could play the 3 but he can't play the 2. Doesn't JT play the 2?
I hope that is the case but the Rockets said they also would "revisit" McCants situation after he failed his physical and no one has heard from him since.
I can think of three reasons. 1) There's a trade in the works after which there would be playing time for Harris. 2) Thay don't want to be caught shorthanded again when one of their PFs get injured. When Landry missed the game vs. OKC, Adelman ended up playing McGrady at the PF position. 3) Adelman really thinks Harris is a viable alternative for Budinger at the SF spot.
This is still very interesting. Morey said he would have signed Harris "if" Landry was out longer. Keep in mind Budinger's injury already happened before Morey stated this. The Wafer situation popped up in between and now we sign Harris. It's interesting that Morey said they would sign Harris if Landry was out for an extended period of time but now they still sign him even though Landry is back.
sounds like the physical thing is a PC way of saying something like "he hasnt changed a bit" or something maybe there was something last minute that scared the rockets away i doubt it was something physically wrong with von.... but i am happy for mike harris though I really wish he could stay on the team he epitomizes everything this Rockets team is all about. Hopefully he has been working on his jumper (he did at the 08 summer league) a lot more. my guesses: 1) chase is going to be back sooner than later 2) there may have been a deal in place to move one of our existing wings and that fell through and Von was going to be the backup if that deal did go through 3) tmac has blackmailed morey or it could be quite simple as Rick liking Harris more than Von. Maybe he was giving a choice and he chose Mike. I remember RA being very high on Mike and they had to let him go because of the 'numbers' game last season but he really didnt want Harris to be let go
wtf ? von wafer failed physical ? can't believe this man,hopefully the rockets will sign him back soon because i really want him back,he's a great addition to the rockets bench,especially with chase budinger out
Awesome. The Rockets are better off. Never liked the idea of adding an egotistical, shot-consuming ballhog to a team predicated upon ball movement and team basketball.
Really? Harris is better than Wafer in almost everything except scoring. It's just unfortunate that Rockets already have so many undersized PFs. Without Budinger, Wafer is needed more, but not by that much. We still have Tmac at this monent,even though it's just a showcase to boost his trade value.

thats what happens when i dont read sucks for von you figure his agent would have made sure about something like this before a buyout was settled.
good god, this seems so bizarre and so wrong. If Wafer felt like crying before, he's probably crying now. WTH was that? If Wafer knew there was something wrong with him, why would he buy out his contract 1 milll+ dollars? And why do I get the feeling the Rockets are serious about looking at him later? If this happens we'll probably sign Harris to only 1 10 day contract, then not renew him to sign wafer, essentially letting harris go for the 3rd time. Poor kid might shoot himself or something if this happens...
