The NBA is more exciting without the Euro flopping anyway.

To this day, the Pistons made the biggest bust in the NBA by drafting Darko. He is still a solid player and I am sure teams would make offers to him above the minimum if he could just keep his head up. New York is just a bad franchise, he has to understand that.

Eh, I see what you're trying to say but I simply just never saw it. Poor instincts, poor finisher, very robotic looking....the only post move I ever saw him do was the sweeping hook shot to his left. Defensively, he's alright mainly due to his natural size but it's obvious that he lacks the intangibles necessary to improve and/or hold it together.

He can thank the Chad Ford's of the world for convincing everybody that he was NBA ready when in reality that clearly wasn't even remotely the case. And c'mon now, LeBron was one of the most hyped up NBA players ever -- I highly doubt any sane Cavs fan was REALLY ready to pass on the "Chosen One" in favor of an 18-year-old Euro. Especially considering how their best player at the time played Darko's position.

I'm not confusing production and talent at ALL. Yes he hasnt adapted to NBA culture and isnt the most mentally sound player. Yes he has physical attributes worthy of a lottery pick. I just changed up the topic abruptly to a player Darko should be more aligned to. How it was Lebron against Carmelo, similarly shoulda been Darko compared to Kaman (Darko's ceiling a higher than Kaman).

That stiff Kaman is averaging right at 15 & 10 the past 3 seasons and is averaging 19 PPG this year. Its not that bad a slight for a center in the same draft to be compared to Kaman. And I'm saying starting from age 24 on up Darko possibly COULD have similar numbers to support the statistical argument, but he's gonna bail out on giving himself the chance. Make no mistake players still need either the stats or professional attitude to to be validated

Michael Olowakandi was a #1 pick ahead of Vince Carter, Mike Bibby and Antawn Jamison. Natural talent or not people got a sense he was overrated or not a hard worker. Basically Darko "coulda" been the Greg Oden #1 to Lebron's Kevin Durant, but it'da just been wrong regardless of his ceiling. I actually defend Darko more than most. He just wasnt going to be better than D Wade or Carmelo.

uhh, what? How many more teams do you think he needs? He has played on awful teams as well as championship teams and has played in half court systems as up-tempo systems. In fact, the only common thread between his teams is that he really hasn't been good enough to play for any of the.

he should have just went to the Raptors or Warriors if he didn't want to play defense.

That would be pretty ironic considering his defensive play is the only aspect of his game that's NBA level right now.

maybe thats the problem, too many different teams too many styles, and just being asked to do too much because he was drafted high.. look if cook and land on a team i dont see why darko can't, he is better player. im sure he will be back in the nba once he proves himself in europe.. im not a darko fan, just hoping the best for the guy, because of the few games ive seen, i think he has some game, and could benefit a team in some way.

Yes, because I am comparing myself to professional athletes and nobody is allowed to compare athletes to other athletes without including themselves.

Sam Bowie was actually a pretty good player but he was plagued with injuries.
Darko had the potential to be a decent starter but couldnt even crack the rotation on crappy teams. Would you rather have a healthy Greg Oden or a healthy Darko? Because Oden is very identical to Bowie.

so, you can try to shine all the sunshine that you want up his a$$ but at the end of the day; he is an overall crappy player.

Huh? If you're not confusing talent with production why do you keep arguing using Kaman's career production and using a statistical argument? I just said talent ALONE does not equate to production in the NBA.

Also talent is not related to being overrated and being a hard worker, so why are you comparing them in the same sentence? In fact I would argue that the more talented you are, the greater the probability is that you won't be a hard worker (i.e. Tmac), and the probability that you would be overrated as well (i.e. Rudy Gay).
