I'd like to rent it so I can throw a big huge party and leave a big mess for you. I would invite all the CCNEt party animals out and we could just have a blast. Maybe we could even get Air Bull or Jason Collier to show up and do the Mark Madsen boogie.

But Alas all I can afford to pay is $10 bucks so if everyone else wants to pitch in maybe Jeff would give us a online friends network discount.... :D

I used to not want the games because I thought they were an unneeded pain in the a$$. But after spending 3 years at the UH law school I have learned one thing. That whole area is going to have to be flattened and started over if UH has a prayer of being a viable university in terms of student life and campus draw. Coincidentally, this is exactly the area where they are proposing the Olympic Village. It is definitely worth a 2 week pain in the butt to get all the infrastructure Max talked about and to rebuild the 3rd Ward. THIS would complete the urban renewal to a large degree.

This reminds me of an episode of Family Ties where the parents are gone for the weekend and its Homecoming week at school. So after Mallory wrecks her Dad's car which she was told not to drive, Alex(who did give Mallory permission to use the car even though his parents had already decided otherwise) decides to make the house a hotel and has a ton of crazy guests in order to pay for fixing the car damage before their parents get home.

It ain't over! Houston can still get the olympics, perhaps those damn swirvy voters need something to drink? ...In addition it is rumored the voting members of the USOC just want to save money.

I'm all for Houston getting the Olympics and having 3rd Ward rebuilt, but only if the residents there now won't be forced to move out. Then again, thats a pipe dream. Gentrification....oops, I mean "urban renewal", is quite popular these days.

If the Olympics is well run traffic problems wont be an issue.

Here isn Sydney we had one thrid of the freeway space of Atlanta and I think its universal opinion that Sydney had little to no problems moving people around the city.

Our Rail system got the majority of people to the Olympic site at Homebush Stadium.

One thing about the Olympics is that its is held accross the whole city. When you think Olympics you think of the big stadium and huge crowds. But we had events thats must have been over 100km apart and some of the soccer games wernt even held in Sydney.

Our road system isnt very good just because of the layout of Sydney's landscape. The Train system is ok...but nothing special.

Like I said, when we got the games we had less the half the capacity of other cities for road and rail yet we didnt have a single problem.

People who worry about the city being flooded with strange people are worrying over nothing. Its a great experience, the whole city is buzzing with activity and it seems like everyone you meet is very friendly.

I tell you what...we left other cities with a hard act to follow :)
