maybe this can make Jermaine play better. Chase just needs to rest his ankle.

Yeah, but for you the right price was, what, 4 million?

I'm guessing the Rockets get him for significantly less than that. :)

I liked Von last year. Hopefully Adelman is ok with it, and they're past that episode during the Lakers series. Maybe Europe has humbled him. I hope so.

If he wants to earn any money near that he better be on his best behavior. I think this is a brilliant signing, and could lead to something even bigger

I meant regaining his starter spot after returning from injury when Brooks had a good run in his place.

All those Ariza jack ups no one likes watching will go to Von Wafer now and that's not a bad thing.

    This should be interesting...

Curious to see how Wafer will fit in... This team has a nice chemistry right now and Wafer loves to take his shots...

He should probably go down to the Vipers and get some more experience there...

    MARK BERMAN
    Sports Director

HOUSTON - Free Agent guard Von Wafter told FOX 26 Sports Tuesday he will re-sign with the Houston Rockets.

Wafer, who played for the Rockets last season, had signed to play with the Greek team Olympiakos.

Wafter said he paid roughly $1.2 million to get out of that contract.

"This is great," Wafer said. "Oh my goodness, I'm so happy, I'm about to start crying."

Wafer said the his buyout is a lot of money, but it's worth it.

"I want to play in the NBA," Wafer said. "I want to play for the Rockets. I love Houston, and I love their fans."

Wafer is flying to Houston Tuesday night from Memphis, where he acknowledged he almost signed with the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Rockets are adding Wafer to their roster because rookie forward Chase Budinger is out with a sprained ankle.

Wafer will not be available to play for the Rockets Tuesday night when they play the Los Angeles Clippers

Von Wafer can explode and he was really strong for us at times. This is good.

I hope Wafer takes Ariza's shots. I doubt he is going to mess up chemistry since he plays with passion and intensity. He just wants to win.

Curious about the details of contract

wasnt a huge von fan esp over the summer when he was asking for crazy $

but if he is back on the same type of contract he was last season he is a great fit to replace chase during his injury

    two things

    1) is he humbled and work within the offense and not get hot headed
    2) how much does this suck for taylor and tmac...probably upset tmac that they brought back von i am sure tmac felt his minutes were gonna go up out of necessity after chase's injury

How do you spread the minutes when Bud comes back? Battier and McGrady could both be on the move.
