looked at this thread to see if anyone knows anything about Kidd getting penalized for the hard foul. does anyone know anything other than the opinions?
Fisher had his back on Scola, and he sort of waited for him to come and laid a shoulder and elbow on Scola. So Fisher's act was dirtier in that Scola was totally unprepared when he got hit. Kidd was half facing Andersen and he gathered his body and threw his weigh on Andersen. So the force from Kidd was probably harder. But it was developed more slowly. Andersen had more time to prepare for the impact.
Just one more opinion: if there was going to be a penalty on Kidd, there would have been a story by now about how the league will be reviewing it. There is no such story, so no penalty will be assessed. I don't see how anyone can say with a straight face that Scola flopped on that hit. I think it's obvious he didn't see it coming and Fisher forcefully knocked him down. I know Scola is a flopper, but there's no way he flopped on that play.
Landry will get suspended for getting teeth in Nowitski's shooting arm, Andersen will be suspended for being in the way of Kidd's shooting arm. Mark Cuban will cry until the NBA goes into the stat book and change the loss to a win for dallas.
Fisher planted himself and exploded into Scola. Kidd sorta jumped into the air and slammed himself into Andersen. I would rate both fouls as equally malicious but I think Fisher's was more capable of doing some harm as he intentionally used his entire body to including his legs and then focused all that energy into Scola's chest.
Kidd was going for the tackle...no ands, ifs or buts about it. Too bad we only get the full court veiw but when the are about to go at it we get the sideline view. There has to be film from that angle.
What do you mean by SOLD IT LIKE SCOLA?? haha...i mean he's a flopper yeah...but then on that play by fisher....he was down on the floor for a while..haha so i dont think that was flopping
1. Kidd didn't go for the upper body/head, fisher went up at scola. 2. DA had time to brace for it, wasnt as unexpected as scola's, therefore it wouldnt have hurt or caused as much damage. 3. Scola DID NOT flop, watch the way he falls down, that's not an act, that's a guy losing his balance. As for the shoving, we can't see the other side fromt he Mav's bench point of view, but it appears like DA reached out and that's when thomas shoved them and kidd was reacting to that, thinking maybe DA was going to do something, but i think DA was just trying to keep some space between them
Kidd's foul was way more than what Ariza got suspended for. Ariza, I don't think was even really trying to hit the guy near him, and he didn't even make contact. He was just ticked at his play and threw his arm out in frustration. Kidd actually meant to make hard contact and he did.
I like how amused Battier was. Battier doesn't seem like the guy who would find amusement in the shoving
omg i was thinking of the thing, seriously wtf kid, i expect better from a future hof. Then again from someone who beat his wife, I shouldn't been surprise. Wtf is wrong with old pg these days. David stern suck.
In answer to OP, no I haven't seen anything - and I've been looking. The most recent news that I've found simply states what we already know, that as of the 20th Mark Cuban filed the complaint (focusing on solely the elbow from Dampier) and that there's five days for a response. That would put the answer falling on Christmas, which I'd bet given the holidays that we're looking at actually next Monday potentially before we hear anything.
