My home computer uses Wondows ME, in which you can open folders as web view. It's convenient especially with photo images. Recently, everytime I open a folder with web view, it comes up with a error message, "ActiveX program in this folder will likely interact with other programs and may not be safe....". I searched for activex programs but cannot find any, except the flash program in the browser. Frustrated, I have to switch it back to "conventional windows view". Any computer experts out there can help me solve the myth? Thanks. MIchecon
Don't set it any lower than default. It's pretty risky if you like to surf the net a lot. I'm not sure what the answer to your problem is. What might be the problem is that you have executables that could be run by an ActiveX script if your security settings are too low. If you like to see photo images in your explorer, you can view each file as thumbnails. Hope that helps...
Here's another thought -- do you have "Active Desktop" enabled. Try getting rid of it and see if that stops it.
One other thing -- I just did a search for this problem, and some people have reported re-registering comcat.dll to help Here's the solution: Start | Run regsvr32 <pathtofile>comcat.dll
