This has serious letdown potential with all the build-up but its been awhile since Ive looked forward to seeing a movie this much.

 

What's the difference between Imax 3d and Real D 3d?

Normally I'd just think Imax, but the latter is actually more expensive where I'm at, so now I'm confused. I want to know which format to what this movie in...

saw it last night, it was simply amazing! i dont know about the others who have seen it already, but i was more amazed by the forest than anything else. aint no tellin what cameron mustve been on to come up with all that.

 

the whole planet was just so real and believable!

If its is as amazing as everyone says and has multiple viewings I wonder if it will be like Cameron's male equivalent to Titanic

Which theatre are you going to go to? LA has some amazing venues for watching flicks.

Imax over in century city..its 1/2 mile down the street was recently built and opened earlier this year.

I was hugely disappointed. It was a good but not great movie. I had REALLY high expectations for this movie and it did not meet it. Basically the things that ruined this movie for me was the predictability of the story (I knew the princess Navi would get mad at Jake for something and I knew Jake was gonna fly that dragon and much more) and the oh so cheesy love story. I was one of the few here that was REALLY billing this movie as the greatest movie of the decade before it came out (see my posts in the early posts of this thread or was it a different avatar thread?) and I'm gonna swallow my pride and admit that this movie is not the greatest. That is all.
