Maybe Yao is just repaying his country for lending the US all the money it could waste in bailing out Wall Street and the big banks. The money the Rockets are paying him is a drop in the bucket compared to what his country is doing by feeding our appetite for wasteful lazy lifestyles and so that we can sit on our asses and think we still own the world. Wake up folks.
I haven't seen a post full of so much bs in a while, and even then who you are trying to insult or augment is unclear...an anti-american sentiment or chinese patriotism is what you had in mind? Word of advice, don't bring affairs like politics, or religon into this convo, it will not end well and Sidetracking like that just b.c you know what I said was right is just cementing it.
anyone who actually believes that Yao will be an effective professional basketball player again is delusional. He's done, and it's reall unfortunate considering how great of a talent he was.
People who b**** about Yao, you're going to have to let it go. No chance he is going anywhere. Though if Houston is done with him, send him here to LA.
i actually dont see harm in him playing a few games before the season starts. that way he cant shake off the rust and get his touch and stamina back in useless games instead of NBA games
I think they should play him very light minutes. That way, he comes into training camp with the rust already shaken off and ready to dominate like the good ol days.
Yao seem not getting the message, playing at the world championship means more pressure on his foot, more pressure on his foot mean more injuries, I don't think he'll last more than 3 years if he doesn't think well about his foot issues..
Correct. Yao can do what he pleases, but to be chronically injured likely because he plays year around handicapps our team's ability to really compete. If he decides to play in the world games, he will have learned nothing from his history.
The Rockets should have told Yao to reduce the amount of basketball he plays in the offseason by working it into his contract. Honestly, the Chinese team couldn't even keep up against the Lithuanians in the 2008 Olympics. Playing at the world championships this time around doesn't matter for the Rockets. His career is all but over.
I don't think it a good idea for yao to join Chinese national basketball team. his return could occpuy more minutes for their young centers, and without enough big games experience, their young players developed very very slowly.I can't imagine they could even lose to Iran in last time's asian cup.what a shame!they get so many guys over 7 feet. anyway rox pay Yao ,so Yao needs to promise be healthy for us,I don't wanna see everything has be prepared well while Yao get hurt again. So please the governor of China let yao go ,he is too tired to play more games. If he gets injuryed once more,I believe his career is done.
As long as the doctors clear him and the Rockets have no problem with it then neither do I. Yao has been mostly dormant due to his foot the last 7 months and will not be playing ball for several more months. He needs not only rehab but some playing time to start shaking off the rust and get back into playing shape. Maybe playing in the World Championships will actually be a good thing this coming summer.
This is a non issue drama queens. He'll need to knock off the rust and gain confidence in that foot anyways. Go for it Yao.
And when he ends up hurt... The first thing most of you will say is.. "Why was he even playing in the first place..."
I hope he does play. He hasn't played in forever, and this is only a couple of games. It's not the CNT-grind that caused all his injuries anyway.
