"On Tuesday, Palestinians killed eight Israelis in an attack on a bus near a Jewish settlement in the West Bank — the first deadly assault on Israeli civilians in nearly a month. In that period, 44 Palestinians were killed. "

8 Versus 44 Palestinians dead? Does that mean Israel should be "nuked" also?

Great point F.D. Khan. That doesn't take away from the fact that innocent Israeli civilians were killed, though.

What it does do is make question the media. They seem to treat Israeli civilian lives as more important than Palestinian ones.

I mentioned in another thread that an Israeli terrorist group blew up a Palestinian shcool killing seven children, back in March. Only MSNBC covered it at all, and they only had one small story about it. More recently members of the same Israeli terrorist group were caught planting explosives at a Palestinian girls school, and at a Mosque. Luckily that plot was stopped. MSNBC mentioned the two incidents together, and no other network covered it at all.

Those are the kinds of stories that are replayed throughout the day when they happen to Israeli civilians.

I think it's wrong no matter what side the civilians are on, but for whatever reason, the media seems to value an Israeli life more than a Palestinian one. Why?

Sadly enough, because they're our allies, I reckon. I don't really have a side in this one, as I just want these guys to live in peace. The path the two sides are taking nearly ensures that there won't be a winner. It begs the rhetorical question... How long til they figure it out? When are they gonna run out of eyes?

    Jew's control the media...just kidding
Always, Always use the BBC for news. It is a whole lot less biased.
Keeley, what war has Israel been one of our allies? Nam? Korean Conflict? Persian Gulf? Afganistain? If they're OUR allie, then why are we always buying THIER weapons?

Would 'strategic chum' better suit your tastes?

I am not the best qualified to answer that question. America, through its short history, has sold arms to Israel. America and Israel were both pitted against Saddam in the Gulf War under different circumstances. Israel was formed by Britain in the later 40's, and America were and have been allies with the British since. America fought on the side that liberated Jews in World War II... I'd say that'd be enough to consider the two countries allies?

    Or am I mistaken?

Not true. I don't watch MSNBC at all and I heard of both incidents...probably from CNN.

I also heard that Israeli security arrested the perpetrators before they could set off the explosives. When was the last time the Palestinian Authority stopped the murder of Israeli citizens?

In one instance they arrested the perps. Like I said the other one killed 7 children. If you did hear it on CNN, then I'm very happy. Also I posted this in another thread. Maybe you heard it there?:)

But it definitely wasn't repeated all day like the bombings in Israel are. It's really hard because I get so frustrated at terrorist attacks by either side.

Hopefully something different will be done soon.

There are many myopic Americans who refuse to believe anything they don't watch on CNN. The European broadcasts like BBC are much less biased and show both sides of the conflict.

I recall that I saw the video, so I didn't just read it here. I remember it because I found it disgusting that they would target children.

Since it WAS so disgusting, I was surprised that I only saw the report once.

Cohen, I was just kidding about you only reading it here. I may have used the wrong smiley face. I'm not the best on nettiquette stuff.

Too bad us big ignorant Americans are the most powerful nation this planet has ever seen, both economically and militarily, but what the heck do we know?

I mean we must be stupid to have become such a force in under 200 years.....we must have just blind dumb luck.

Or maybe, just maybe, our system is better then all the others and works because we give people the right to choose.

Ah, what do we know.....we just have to be content in being the best at most everything.

    :)

No harm done. Just because I didn't 'get it' doesn't mean that your smiley use was off.
