While this is very tragic, you don't hear anything about the fact that the pilot did not want to fly the plane because the group overloaded it by an estimated 700 pounds.

no, you won't hear much about that.

But I guess ultimately it still is his responsibility. He could have said no.

    very sad!

Actually weight from the luggage was the cause of the crash not matter how much he had in his system....
He did indeed argue with Aaliyah and a few others that it was far too much weight on the plane.
They did not listen, and threatened him, and in turn they died.

Huh? Then why are they still investigating this crash, and why are they saying the drugs in the pilot's system may have had an impact?

To my knowledge, the cause(s) have not been entirely identified.

The plane took off but did not have enough lift to keep itself in air.
The cause of this is too much weight not evenly spread out.
Planes rely on lift to keep them in the air, It's like if you placed a piece of tissue on top of a glass cup and tried to balance a pebble on it, the pebble and the tissue both crash to the bottom.

Of course. I understand the laws of physics. Thanks for the "lesson."

But again, overloaded or not, what they found in his system could have in fact been a factor....period.

Otherwise, the investigation would be closed, and the autopsy results would be null and void.

NO ONE has come out and said what the official cause of this crash was. How is it that you have made the decision?

From what I know, the pilot refused to fly the plane because of the overloading. The group would not let him say "no". They fussed and argued with him. He finally agreed and the plane crashed. The overloading was definitely one of the reasons the plane went down. There could be other reasons too.

Right rezdawg, and that's all I am saying. There could be other factors, one of which may very well be the pilot's condition while flying.

if the story is true (that the party involved threatened the pilot if he didn't take off even though he proclaimed there was too much weight and the flight would be rendered unsafe)... than yes they did get what was coming to them... i feel no sympathy in that case.

b/c they made their bed, and now they must lie in it... (maybe a poor choice of words for the sensitive... my apologies.)

if you make decisions that you know are life altering/threatening beforehand, than why should I feel bad for you?

i'm only basing these thoughts on the fact that the people on the plane were told that it was unsafe to fly with the excess weight and chose to fly anyways (stupidly ignoring warnings given by the pilot)... if this story is not true, than my statments have no meaning.

So if your parents die in a car crash because they were speeding, you won't feel sympathy for yourself or the rest of your family?

    No

that doesn't fit, Aaliyah and crew just didn't understand what they were doing when they argued with the pilot

but the pilot did... the responsibility was on him to say no, no matter who he was talking to

the pilot should always be in complete command of the plane and what goes on it... perhaps he was hung over and didn't feel like arguing

    Someone answer this please?

I really am appalled that someone would say "they got what they deserved" and "they made their bed, they must lie in it."

    Damn, cold-hearted.....
