with the recent statements that Tmac would love to stay in houston, I was thinking how things could actually play out. Especially how this really fits with the 2010 Free agency class and with the Team.

If we could sign Tmac to a deal in the neighborhood of 5-7 mil a year for 3 more years, i think the Rockets should do it. Tmac understands the game very well and he is a very good player even somewhat gimpy (that is if he doesnt return to full strength). I mean he is way better than Brian Cook.

Also, Correct me if i am wrong, Brian Cooks is a free agent and the Rockets wont be resigning him. I think Brian makes 4 million. So potentially signing Tmac could be very close to a wash. And it seems that Doresy wont ever see the NBA floor, with his salary gone Tmac would be a pretty good sign.

That leads me to the 2010 Free agency. It is public knowledge that Bosh isnt to happy, he wants to be on a contender, especially one that plays hard D and doesnt give up. Which sounds like the rockets. The Rockets need more size down low and Bosh can run the floor really well. It seems like a perfect fit. However with the salary cap shrinking next year we are some what money strapped. But we do have Tmacs 23 mill coming off the books.

Morey is big on Value and is willing to pay for top tier Talent but not over pay. Bosh is a max player but I think if we offer Bosh a contract that starts around 16 mill a year he would be willing to bite. He wants to compete for a championship but if you really think about it, he would be getting a huge pay raise. The money he would be making would no longer go to the Canadian government, and Texas has not state income tax. He would actually be getting close to 4 plus mill more than he takes home now.

If everything happened and Bosh was willing to come here (which i dont see why not, Great team, great management and texas is just awesome). We would have a really great squad.

    PG - Brooks, Lowry,Taylor
    SG - Ariza, Tmac, Bud,
    SF - Scola, Battier
    PF - Bosh, Andersen,Landry,
    C - Yao, Chuck,

And we have room to sign another diamond in the ruff.

    What do you guys think?

There are a lot of things wrong about your post but pointing them all out does not provide me sufficient amusement to do so

But your "though" is not good. Sorry, friend. :(

We won't have the cap space to do it. We're over the cap already, so Tracy's expiring won't immediately free up $23 million. We'll probably only have $7 to $10 million for a free agent if we let him, Scola and Cook expire. Some of that might have to be used on Scola (probably not if we get Bosh, though).

The only way to give Bosh a bunch of money like that is if we have his Bird Rights. We'll only have his Bird Rights if we trade for him now. The only way your plan would work is if we dump Tracy for Bosh somehow, re-sign Bosh for $16 million, and sign McGrady to the MLE.

Bosh is pretty pissed at Toronto right now, so he might be an asset we could get mid-season. I doubt we'd re-sign McGrady though.

Actually, I take it back, if no one helps you, you will never learn. So here we go...

Our cap space at the end of this year will be around 7 mil. Additionally, we need to resign Luis Scola.

We cannot offer a 16 million dollar deal. One, because we don't have the capspace, and two, because you can't offer a player that much money without a sign and trade or him being on your team and being eligible for the appropriate raises.

Now onto the basketball stuff, which is the most disappointing part of your post.

Scola is not a small forward. Andersen is not a power forward, and he certainly wouldn't push Landry to 3rd in the rotation. Taylor is not a PG.

And lastly, no, we wouldn't have room to sign a "diamond in the 'ruff'" unless it was for the minimum...and that's not a diamond in the rough, it's one of a million players who sign for the min.

My bad about the players on the wrong positions, i am frantically working and was just trying to incorporate my thought across. But thanks for the education on salary cap figures.

Actually, NBA wise, Andersen is more of a 4 then a 5. Granted we need his height as a C but still doesnt change the fact he is horrible inside but decent outside and mid. Not strong enough to play the five but fast enough to be a four.

I've been pushing to play Hayes at the 5 and Andersen at the 4 more.

I agree totally with you, Andersen shouldn't be a 5.

I would blow my brains out watching that guy try to guard a 4 with any sort of mobility. He's already slow for a C. I know his offensive game says PF but his body says otherwise.

You think TMac will settle for Ariza's backup????

And behind Ariza and Tmac, C-Bud wouldn't see the floor, and he needs to play.

Please ship McGrady out already. I don't know about you but I have already had enough with one and outs in the playoffs. I want the Rockets to win a championship soon and the sooner McGrady is gone the sooner the Rockets win the ring.
