There are a lot of things that hold true for black comics I'll admit, cursing, white vs. black, sex, Tom Ridge (just me).

The thing that will really define me as an African American comedian is when I star in a cop movie or cop TV show with an older non-black actor!

Rock is with Anthony Hopkins in 'Bad Company'
Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan in 'Rush Hour'
Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte in '48 hours' (my favorite of all time).

Cosby was with Robert Culp in 'I Spy'
Arsenio Hall with Sammo Hung in 'Martial Law'

Hell what's next, some collaboration between Bernie Mac and Sir Richard Harris. Better yet, flip it and have the must see summer hit starring Carrot Top and James Earl Jones.

Oh eariler I mentioned Tom Ridge and here's the bit...

"President Bush has started the Department for Homeland Security headed up by Tommy Ridge, in lieu of the recent police beatings in California and Oklahoma he should start up the department of HOMEBOY Security, headed up be Tommy Hearns".

He still kicks ass, doesn't he?

What's up with Eddie Murphy and buddy movies?

The upcoming I Spy looks pretty funny though.

You could say that Boomerang was a romantic comedy. Back in 9th grade it was hilarious.

Hahaha. :D

I can see him going away again for awhile and coming back with a serious role. I think he's good enough.

Another Brother, do you perform around Houston? If so, have you heard of my uncle? He performs under the name 'HypnoBro.' He does all this weird hypnotism stuff in his act. Damned if that stuff isn't real too! Man, he used to be my favorite uncle. Now he scares the sh*t out of me! :D

But I can't really complain though. Since he added hypnotism to his act he's had TV appearances and has done shows from Vegas to Japan...

Nah, I'm still gonna complain, that sh*t is weird! :)

Two very underrated performances from Murphy in that movie as Jif and Kit Ramsey.

Yeah Astro, I know Leroy he is one of my best friends, he is at Bally's in Tunica right now making a crapload of money. He hasn't done Vegas or national TV yet, but he is certainly on his way.

I just hope Eddie doesn't do another Beverly Hills Cop sequel.

Could Coming to America be considered a romantic comedy??

BTW, I think only a few black comics can do white-black comedy and actually be funny(ie. Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Dave Chapelle). What really annoys me is when the majority of a black comic's material is of the white-black genre.

Please tell me you don't fall into that group AB!

He hasn't done Vegas? My cousin told me he did. But then again, she never pays attention to anyone in the family. :)

I thought he did Comicview. And that one talk show everone watches in Houston. I don't know anything about it (I'm an Okie now GO SOONERS!!! ).

Ahem, exactly how much is a "crapload?" I have the brochures and newspaper clippings for his show at Bally's, but they neglected to mention the "crapload" of cash. Uncle Leroy loves to give me his hand-me-down suits and stuff. Not that I don't appreciate it, but I think its time for some new stuff. ;)

You know who really sucks at the white/black stuff? Eddie freaking Griffin. I don't know why he has gotten so big but his routine has always sucked to me. He used to stay in my firend's attic back when his family lived out in Cali. Now he could probably buy their house 100 times over.

FYI I don't rely on the black/white material because I was raised very liberal and don't connect with a lot of the references.

I do believe that funny is funny and if you are ghetto and funny, racial and funny, musical and funny (me) or corporate and funny and long as they are original, they deserve respect.
