How good are Budinger, Blair and Jerebko? These guys were all taken in the 2nd round for such reasons as Chase's apparent love for volleyball, Blair's knee's and Jerebko being from Europe.

Anybody else on the watch list?

Jerebko looked aggressive and prominent when we played detroit.

Sam Young has been pretty decent for a second rounder. He stepped in for the injured Rudy Gay tonight and had 20 points on 7-13 shooting. Overall, he's been a decent scorer when given the minutes.

Speaking of when given the minutes, Blair is only the best rebounder in the league per 48 minutes. Shocking, I know. His per 48 min numbers: 21.5 PPG, 17.9 RPG. I know he's young, I know he's foul prone.....just saying.

Can you consider the 2nd pick of the draft underrated?

We all thought Thabeet was headed for bust status after the 1st month of the season, but he's starting to show signs.

Yeah, let's give him some time. It will take a while. But I still have serious doubts about his motor.

Omri Casspi, Taj Gibson, Darren Collison, Toney Douglas, Terrance Williams, Eric Maynor. Also Ilyasova from Milwaukee is kind of a rookie too right?

Thabeet has already tied Vasilis Spanoulis' NBA record of shooting 1.000 in a single game not just once, but 4 of the last 5 games.

The proof is in the hot dog.

And Jennings continues to be hampered by that year in Europe.

I thought this was going to include that ESPN insider article on the top 10 surprising rookies.

Remember when stuff that like that was instantly posted here? You didn't even need a subscription to ESPN to read every single insider article. Nowadays? I'm actually considering subscribing. What a bummer.

Ilyasova has played in the NBA before and thus cannot be counted as a rookie.

Tyler Hansbrough has been solid, though he's hit the rookie wall lately.

    Hey thanks!

That article is somewhat ridiculous though. I can't believe they dismissed the idea that what DeJuan Blair has done is surprising but then call it surprising that numerous lottery picks - including the #2 over all pick - are showing signs.

It wasn't just Blair's health that was in question. It was also his size.

Also, is Casspi really playing that well? I haven't seen much of him.

We thought Thabeet was going to be a bust before he was drafted. I see him as an overpaid big man in the future with decent defense and blocks and no offense. He'll be similar to Dalembert or Diop.
