You called Randolph another version of Stromile Swift in another thread. Now you want him on the Rockets? Lol, you have go to be the most bi-polar poster on this website.

Pretty much. I think a lot of these organizations do a poor job of player development especially with very young players. They draft them and expect every player to be at the same maturity level. Randolph isn't swift or ty thomas, he's more in the odom mold as a just a ultra talented young player. Young guys like that need consistency vs erratic behavior like nelson has been displaying. He ran webber out of town after his rookie yr.

I don't see swift in him at all. I've seen him play and he is a talented kid that plays hard. He makes mistakes on the court but I think it's more to do with his age. That wasn't swift's case.

I'd take Maggette at this point, even though I think he needs to be leashed considerably. Atleast he is healthy. We need people who can make plays.

    Ellis/Maggette/Randolph
    for
    Ariza/McGrady

He is in no way similar to Stromile Swift or Tyrus Thomas. His skills set amongst big men is something that only guys like Odom, KG, and Bosh possess. The guy gives 100% on the court and has handled himself relatively well given the crappy situation he's had to deal with in Golden State. On top of all this, he's only 20 and is one of the youngest players in the league. He's going to be a very good player in this league for the next 12 years or so. He's only going to get better.

If the Warriors want a big man that can shoot the 3, offer them Andersen. If they want a pick as well, give them this year's 1st rounder. Odd are you're not going to find a player better than Randolph with a mid 1st round pick. As I said in the other Randolph thread, I would really be aggressive and go for Biedrins and Randolph in exchange for Battier, Cook or Andersen, and our 1st round pick this year or Battier, Scola, and/or 1st round pick this year. You get Randolph who can play alongside Yao, can play in an uptempo offense, and is a difficult matchup for the opposing team. Biedrins can be the young, athletic backup C for Yao. Andris is an elite rebounder, good shot blocker, solid finisher, and can play an uptempo style as well. Rockets get younger, taller, more skilled, and more athletic. Golden State sheds payroll like they want and likely gets a pick out of it.

He is nothing like Swift. They play completely different.

Anthony Randolph can effectively lead a fastbreak...

I have a hard time believing GS will move him. At least if they're smart. I'd fire Nelson (duh) and see if I can bring in a new coach that he might respond to better first before I do anything drastic like....say....trading away my uniquely talented 20-year-old hybrid forward that produces well despite not having a clue yet what he's doing out there.

You fail. Not every young athletic bigman with behavior issues is Stro Swift.. Anthony Randolph is the prototype of the future nba player. He can play 3 positions effectively, run the fastbreak, bang with the bigboys, dunk, shoot. He has all the tools to be a great player in this league if coached correctly. We have one of the best, if not the best coaches in the league and he would do wonders for Randolph. Im really really really hoping we land him.

As I said, I hope to be wrong about him, but right now he plays like an idiot far too often.

Out of position, no idea how to play the game........just gets by on sheer athleticism and skills....

He is like the scarecrow....."If I only had a brain".......

My question is if we trade with GS and have to give up either Landry or Scola from a money ball prospective what would Morey & Rick give up for Randolph, and how long would it take to get enough production from Randolph to make up for losing Scola or Landry.

The same question applies to Brooks and Lowery if we have to also take Ellis.

I just think GS would have to get back a serviceable Guard and a big for replacement. Surely GS management would have enough brains for that. If not lets screw the heck out of them!

Keep on mind Morey will do his best to get his owner under the Luxury Tax.

Ellis can play the two. I think Golden State would like taking on McGrady's contract. He can play for them this year and then he'll come off of the books for them at the end of the season. They then will have loads of cap space. We would take on cap space, but get great young talent in Ellis and Randolph. As long as we keep players like Battier and Scola and with our coach, we'd have a pretty badass team. These guys can ball.

I'm thinking McGrady and Cook for Ellis, Randolph, and Maggete/Biedrins.

We could probably throw in Anderson in that trade, too.

The only problem I'd see is the 3 and 4 positions. We'd have Battier/Ariza at the 3. Then, we'd have Landry/Scola/Randolph at the 4. Maybe move Scola or Landry down to the 5? Trade Scola or Landry to a different team for draft picks? If we do trade one of them, hopefully it's to the Eastern Conference. I'd rather keep Landry over Scola though, just because Landry is younger and has more potential.

You know... I would make that trade. Unlike some I really like Trevor, but I would do that trade in a heart beat. Can I throw in Cook?

Even if you throw in Cook, the trade does not work. So, what I did (with ESPN's trade machine) is throw in Anderson, but we receive Biedrins. I'm sure Golden State would love to have a C who can also shoot from the outside. So:

    Houston gets:

    Monta Ellis
    Anthony Randolph
    Corey Maggette
    Andres Biedrins

    Golden State gets:

    Tracy McGrady
    Trevor Ariza
    Brian Cook
    David Anderson

May be a lot of players, but I still think it's a realistic trade and good for both teams. Houston gets a lot younger and receives players that will shine under this coach and our veteran players (specifically Ellis and Randolph). We also get a replacement for Ariza at the 3 (Maggette). GS gets to get rid of Maggette's horrible contract, too. Then, we get a backup C for Yao.

For Golden State, they get Tracy McGrady's $23 million dollar expiring, as well as Brian Cook's $3.5 million expiring. That's a lot of money coming off of the books for them and they will be loaded with cash this offseason to start over. They get a nice C in Anderson and also get Ariza, who moves closer to home.

I think this also works out.

Realistically speaking I don't think Nelly would give up that much talent for you show as the Rockets giving up.

Having said that, I think Anderson is Nelly's type of big man. He loves seven footers that like to shoot 3's and make them. Anderson has some offensive skill. I would certainly make that move in a heartbeat but I just don't see the Warriors doing it.
