I wonder how the Cuban Hicks relationship is. If Cuban doesn't like him, it would be sweet for Cuban to buy the Astros and make them Dallas' team. That would burn Hicks.

He's not allowed to -- Selig won't allow it. He has said in the past that he wanted to and will after the next collective bargaining agreement. We'll see if he'll live up to his word next year (probably not, unfortunately).
Unless it is in the same city as their NFL franchise. McNair could own the Astros or Rockets or a Houston NHL team or even the Spurs (just for an example), but not the Rangers. The rules used to be much more restrictive, but they were softened in the '90s for folks like Paul Allen and Wayne Huizenga.
