Here is the entire article so nobody else clicks on the link and gives the chron the impression people actually enjoy reading Richard Justice articles: T-Mac passed the audition. Now find him a new team, Daryl Morey. If Daryl Morey can't trade T-Mac now, he's not the general manager some of us have been saying he is. Those eight minutes are all you need to know. They were gold, Jerry, gold. Did you see the way he ran the floor and hit the open man and knocked down the three? He played defense and crashed the boards, too. Not once did he loaf or pout. That's the Tracy the Rockets traded for five years ago, and the Tracy that will help some lucky NBA team make a deep playoff run. Tracy looked so good that Morey probably had a fleeting thought that he should keep him and watch him take the Rockets to the playoffs. Hopefully, he gave himself a good slap in the head and came to his senses. I mean, it was fun having Tracy around, but that ship has sailed. Nothing personal, Tracy. We've got a good thing going right now. Oh sure, the Rockets need more talent and they need to keep growing and they're not a finished product. Then again, we don't really know how good they are. They haven't just survived a brutal early schedule. They're tied with Utah for the fifth-best record in the West and are on a pace to win 48 games. Their 14-10 record is way better than a lot of us thought they'd be at this point. They're almost 30 percent into the season and have had only a couple of bad games. Otherwise, they've been competitive almost every night. They play fast, share the ball and are tough as nails mentally. I don't know about you, but Kyle Lowry is my poster boy for these Rockets. Everytime I see him go in the lane and rip a rebound away from a power forward, I want to run onto the floor and shake his hand. In fact, I tried to do just that once, and thankfully, a guard stopped me. My point is that these Rockets are so much fun that I hope they let the thing play out a little longer and see what this group can do. At some point, Morey might have to ship off half the team to get a superstar, but that's going to be a sad day. I'm perfectly happy watching this group. In fact, I don't think any of our local teams has been this much fun to watch in my nearly 10 years in Houston other than when Carlos Lee is getting thrown out on the bases or Charley Casserly is backstabbing a coach trying to save his own skin. Whatever happened to Charley? What's that? He's working for CBS? Good Lord. Cronkite and Murrow must be rolling over in their graves. If Tracy is playing at a high level and willing to play fast, he makes them better. But there are too many unknowns. Maybe Rick Adelman's idea of letting him ease into the minutes is the right way to go. On another topic, is Rick Adelman and his coaches getting enough credit for the work they've done with this team? Masterful doesn't even begin to describe it. I don't want the Rockets to do anything to interfere with what's happening on the floor. We're watching Aaron Brooks and Kyle Lowry and Chase Budinger grow up right in front of our eyes. We admire Luis Scola more every night. And if you don't like Shane Battier, you don't like Amy's hot-fudge sundae with extra whipped cream and nuts. I'm guessing 20 of Morey's peers are watching the video of those eight minutes this morning with their jaws on the floor. ''Get coach on the phone,'' at least six are saying right now. ''We gotta have this guy.''
There is no hurry to make any trades right now. The deadline is two months away. A lot could change by then. A lot of team usually adress injury problems at the deadline like the Magic did last year when they traded for Rafer because Jameer was out. We will know alot more in the future where our team stands, so there is no hurry til then and then. Also I love how hard this team works and how much energy they play with, but nobody can deny that on some of the games the offense goes stagnant when we get in a half court game. When this happens we have nobody to go to. We either gonna need T-mac for this or some kind of superstar in. the future. We can win some games with the lineup and get to the playoffs but I think alot of us would like to see more and right now our best bet would be to see what T-mac can bring to the table because I dont think there are that many other options out there
Your first mistake was reading anything by Richard Justice. Your second mistake was taking anything he says seriously. Don't make the third mistake of repeating mistake one or two. Richard Justice = Ignore. I am surprised he didn't throw some Vince Young man love in there as well.
People like Richard Justice make me feel embarrassed for being a Houstonian. The guy is a pure clown at best. His articles and his words are pure BS.
One thing we should have learned by now is that we have no idea what Nerd Elvis is planning. When has a Morey move been predicted before? The Artest trade? The Skip trade and hijacking of Lowry? The acquisition of a lottery pick at 44? We think we know, but we have no idea.
If T-mac is moved it won't be until very very close to the deadline. Morey is going to let T-mac come back and play his way in and look like himself but in a limited role. This is what will up the bids from guys like Pat Riley. But Morey will wait until the deadline to see what more he can get. Just basic business. Why would he do a deal sooner?
As of yesterday at 7:53pm, i did not know who i wanted to run out of town more between TMAC and RICH JUSTICE...as of 8:30pm, my decision was made easier...cant believe RJ has a job while so many other, more capable people are struggling to get by.
Does anybody else find it odd that a poster named t_mac1 is criticizing Justice's over the top T-Mac love?
At least we can clean ourselves with toliet paper. With Tracy we still have to find away to get rid of it.
