The rox made a mistake in releasing Brian Shaw. He ignited the Laker's 4th quarter comeback and may have been the catalyst in the Lakers winning the championship this year and possibly building a dynasty. The rox management overlooked his talent as a shooter. He is a decent backup player and would give us another weapon off the bench.

The only key to the Fakers winning a title was the game being handed to them. No dynasty for these overhyped fools. Talent will win out next year. Yes, I agree it was a mistake NOW in hindsight to cut Shaw, but remember there is only a 12 man roster and I believe we had about 18 going into camp. We had to cut some people, and he was not better at that time than those others. The Rockets had many quality players, and could not take a risk on this guy who had been out of the league for years.

Hey look at it this way, if Shaw was here then we wouldnt have Moochie. So we did the right choice, Moochie NORRIS 4 EVER!!

CAT is correct...Fakers didn't win this one, the JailBlazers pulled off a choke job of immense proportions. Lakers are very vulnerable in the Finals!

AHH HORRY CAN'T HAVE MORE RINGS THEN HAKEEM, AND THE REST.......HMM GO PACERS!!! AND BY THE WAY I HAVE WONDERED WHY WE RELEASED BRIAN SHAW ALL YEAR. HE IS A GOOD PLAYER BETTER THEN THAT NUMBER 9 GUY ON THE TEAM BY FAR AND PROBABLY A CHEAP SALARY EVEN THOUGH WE ARE STILL PAYING IT I ASSUME.

HOW OLD IS SHAW? augmon, shaw would have been better then devon gray though i guess.. who was the other person we cut in the trade?

I'm guessing Houston cut Shaw because Shaw asked them to (like Augmon did). Anyone notice that the "q" is right next to the "w", and if you replace the "w" in Shaw with a "q" it becomes Shaq?

Shaw is a scrub who hit some lucky 3s. Another example of the genius of Phil Jackass, I guess..LOL

This is crazy. Shaw isn't a good player. He is still not a good player, even after all those 3s. He hit jumpers when he was left alone by people double- and triple-teaming Shaq. Just like the inside-out game made a solid contributor out of Matt Maloney. It is the system that knocked down the 3s, Shaw was just a cog. Those points belong to Shaq for creating the opportunities in the first place.

Who cares? Didn't the guy average 4 ppg in the regular? Would he have put us over the top in the playoffs? NO!

Never said Shaw was the ANSWER, or that he would "put us over the top" in the playoffs. However, I would like to have him as the 9th or 10th man on the rox. I think he could contribute, a la Matt Bullard.

I wanted the Rockets to keep Shaw so that Steve could have a veteran point guard to accelerate his learning curve. Regardless of Shaw's ability at this stage of his career, he certainly could have mentored Francis, and helped him to understand certain game-time situations. Remember, we only had Steve and Bryce at the time.

It's very easy to say, "we should have kept Brian Shaw (or any other player)," after watching them play well on another team. The bottom line is that he's just another scrub who can hit the '3-ball', and benefits from having a monster like Shaq. Regardless of what he's done this year, he couldn't have even backed up Mooch in our system.

The only reason I wish we would have kept Shaw was that he wouldnt have made those threes against Portland. You think Fox, Harper or Horry could have made 7/8 3 pointers over 3 games...No Way....Anyway who cares about him...he sucks ...next topic..

Brian Shaw??? Geez, how many teams has he been with? We shoulda kept Cassell too instead of trading for Barkley. Barkley is done and Cassell is just peaking in the NBA. And Chucky Brown, we shoulda....ummmm...nevermind, bad example [IMG]

Where the hell was Brian Shaw supposed to fit on our roster????? We didn't need another guard.Had he not gotten hot , everybody would be asking why he was in the game so damn long. I didn't get it.
