The interesting thing is Miami really isn't in such a bad spot right now. I mean, true they are playing .500 ball, but if they did get Tmac and assuming he is ready to play, they don't lose very much giving up JO (also assuming that's who they are willing to trade). This might be a good trade for both parties esp. if the Rockets don't really ever intend on playing Tmac a majority of minutes and he is actually ready to play. Plus, JO will fill a size problem at the 5.
except from wade and beasly, I want no piece of heat on my team, and I don't think the heat are going to give up these two, So, it's not possible, delusion....
Trading Blake frees up minutes for Bayless. If you follow the NBA you'd know the rest aren't in the Blazers's rotation. They've all had surgery and are months away from playing again.
as long as the deal involves d-wade, otherwise, pls keep tmac until the end of this season. as a loyal fans of tmac, i really hope to see that tmac will stay in rox all the time.
Some people don't really know how the NBA works. You get star players by trades, because they want out of their situation. When the Rockets got Tmac...he was the Man in the NBA. A Rising Star...Like Wade. If Wade really wants out, Anything is possible for any team. It is going to come to who has the best package for him and The Rockets have a expiring star and young players like Brooks or Landry to give up...so why not? If Wade is happy and Riley is thinking how Tmac would fit WITH Wade...This isn't happening unless they give up Beasley. Rockets have no need for Oneal, if they want his contract they might as well stay with Tmac's. Haslem would just be another undersized Center here. So all this "It is impossible to get Wade here." No it is not. If Wade wants out, Heat will be forced to trade him. Since if they don't he walks and resigns elsewhere, they get him off the cap but it'll be no good since no one is going to Miami if Wade is not there. People forget about how all the big stars were traded in the NBA, Wade being traded is not far fetched. And they are not going to get fair value for him no matter what unless they are trading him for Bosh or something, so they would be looking for a team with young players in return and maybe a expiring for rebuild. I don't think it is going to happen though, as I think Wade wants to be with Miami. As far as Tmac goes...he is stuck with us, the teams that have shown interest don't have what the Rockets want...Eddy Curry or Oneal? I don't think the Rockets want no part in either of those guys right now.
WTF? If anything the Pacers win that deal, and we lose out because we just traded our expiring for Murphy and Dunleavy, both tweener types who are defensive liabilites and injury prone! No way we do that deal without Granger or several unprotected lotto picks
i wish we could buy out t-mac's contract and just sign mike harris for the reason of the season instead, but i know thats not gonna happen!
This is exactly right. If we get an unprotected first round pick and expiring contracts for T-MAC we have made the steal of the century. I am not at all optimistic that this will happen. I would take any first round pick, even the Lakers, and expiring contracts for T-Mac. Jermain O'neal would probably fit for us better right now.
I say we keep Mac, let him play the year out with the rockets. Then if he wants to stay we sign him very cheap, then go after a good free agent with macs old contract out the way... There are NO!!! Good fits in any trade for Mcgrady and the rockets... Then again there is a very underated Gerald Wallace out there
First of all Dunleavy isn't a tweener, he's a 6-9 guard, who plays smaller than he is, ie don't play him as a forward. People who think he's a bad defender are probably reading old posts of GS fans. If you watch the Pacers you'll know O'Brien uses him to guard the smaller opposing ballhandler/playmaker. In this situation he gets a lot of deflections because his height advantage. He's good as a team defender, knows where to be, slides in and takes those charges... Murphy is so overrated on this board. He's the white lesser version of Z-Bo. Enpty stats. His contract is just as bad. It'd take an extraordinary circumstance or a desperate team like the Cavs to take him on IMO.
That doesn't work, cap issues all over the place. Once Tracy's contract expires the Rockets only get $7 million of the $23 million to spend. It is better to trade him for better assets if you can. DD
I want everyone to close their eyes and ask your self...if someone was offering a starting center who has played in 20 of his 23 team's games and was avging 14 points, 7.5 rbs, 1.5 assists and about 1.5 blocks per game with an expiring contract wouldn't we jump at that? just a thought...
my god man, you are so over the board with your opinion it's not even funny. Stop posting for awhile and actually think about what you want to say. It's not about volume DaDMac, it's about picking your spots and adding to the conversation. You say you'd take J'On when his contract has the same implications, then you say no to keeping Tmac. You act like center is a position of need, but with Andersen, Hayes and Yao coming back next year, it's only a short term need. The long term position of need is shooting guard. What position does tracy play? I know he's burned some bridges, something I'm sure you are all too familiar with, but you'd be amazed at how quickly he can rebuild them if he has the right attitude and contributes to the team (which so far, he is). If nothing else, last night showed me that Tmac won't slow down the offense. If anything, when he does get his legs back, he will provide an additional offensive creator from the wing. Something we definitelty lack and need. It could also free up Trevor to be traded if we so chose. Keeping him for the year is a viable alternative. Assuming, there are no trades that either, provide young talent, draft picks, or a star in return, then letting tmac play it out gives you the opportunity to look at him for nothing and decide if you want to extend a discounted offer in the future. It then frees up enough financially to resign all your current roster and provides you with future flexibilty.
O'Neal for McGrady is intriguing ... a couple of questions -- how do Jermaine's numbers translate to the West and how does he help the Rockets this year ?
Saw a bunch of ignorant posters posting sth abt beasley or Wade. No, they won't happen. So stop dreaming. Would be very interesting for DM though if we can squeeze out a 1st round pick from Miami wif Mcgrady tho. To me that's the likely scenario that would make sense to both teams.
