I honestly think the guy is being sincere. Lets just take him at his word honestly. I am a Houston Rockets fan first and I really feel this guy is our face, at times much more than Yao. Out of all the superstars the Rockets had come and go, this guy seems the most sincere in his desire to stay here...the only other player that comes close is Francis. Let's just all move forward and him his chance to prove us wrong. Come on the guy deserves this last chance. He's basically one foot out the door, might as well enjoy it.
Iroc... First, I meant no disrespect to the city of Houston. Not knowing if you interpreted like that? Also, like I said, I've never lived in Houston so I wanted to make it clear that my opinion, is simply just an opinion, based on times I've been there. And you are correct it does have the 4th highest population in America I believe. I live in LA, so I just meant it's not that big of city, in feel, compared to LA(Again IMHO). And NO, that's not me trying to state that LA is a better city than Houston in any way. Point is, I meant nothing by it.
None taken. But LA is a mega city... from SD to LA is almost solid city aside from Camp Pendleton. SoCal is the definition of sprawling. I could see maybe Houston having more of small town feel as far as the people and their hospitality go... but it's a very large city. We cool, man. FWIW, I love SoCal. I could easily live out there.
Bro, if tracy stays by accepting a 4-6 mil one year deal and lives up to expectations, the way landry is emerging, there is no need to trade for a big three. This team would be loaded with talent. I feel Carl can be more of a big three than Artest of last year. He'd be our second option and tracy third or even fourth really. Right now our bench is outplaying our starters. Not many teams can say that. We'll have Yao/Hayes to anchor the C, Carl/Luis PF, Trevor/Shane SF, Tmac/Bud SG, and AB/Kyle at PG. I might even go on a stretch and say we possibly have a big 4 if AB can consistently be effective.
http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/tmac_returns_rockets_beat_pis_2009_12_15.html here are some interesting quotes from the teammates scola: He looked pretty good out there. We didn't know he was going to play until the very last minute. I definitely didn't know. I came to the game and I saw him in a jersey and I said, 'Hey, who are you?' I was happy he was out there and he was looking good too. He made a couple of moves and he went to the basket. He looked good to me.” landry: “It was good to see Tracy. We've got a pretty young team and he is a veteran player in this league, a superstar all-star type of player and he has led by example every practice, every game and every time he is here with us. He came back sooner than anybody expected so when he came in the game I stood up and gave him a round of applause because it's not easy.” i always thought tmac and landry seems close with how they interact, but damn, landry must really like the guy.
I know T-Mac loves it here, that's why when he heard trade rumors about him he went to the media instead of telling the coach that he was out for the season. Some people hate him for that but I see it as passion for this city coming from T-Mac.
I gotta admit... if he does in fact love it here, I am no one to dispute that. But the fact of the matter is this guy flip flops like no other. Yea, Landry and tmac have a lot of chemistry, if you don't rmbr landry avgd something 16ppg during the streak and most of his buckets were off of tmac passes. Different team though, we had an inept PG that wouldn't be guarded so I don't know what It'll be like now.
Those 8 mins seemed like an indication of how the team would work with Tmac around. As I recall we went on a tear.
if t-mac loves houston that damned much, maybe he should take a major paycut just to improve the team, but we all know thats not gonna happen by a longshot.
