francis basically forced a trade, wall would have to do the same. It's possible, but highly unlikely that he'd force a trade AND would be dealt to houston.

Did Morey seriously go after Rubio? If he did, I lost a little respect for him, Lil Ricky is b****made. How are you going to go that far out of your way to put yourself in the draft contention, get drafted have your Daddy insult the city that drafted you practically on draft night and then reup with the team you were trying to leave?

The boy is a waste to me after all that crap. Even the T-Wolves didn't deserve that crap.

I don't see th eNets trading Wall if they get the #1 pick, but they may be willing to trade Devin Harris -- an upgrade over either of our PGs.

As a John Wall fan... and as much as I'd love to have him in Houston...

even if Daryl could make it happen.. it would be very difficult to see him co-existing with Yao.

Now don't get me wrong, he's very very talented at passing the ball, but... or maybe I should say BUT (cause it's a big caveat) his talent would be better utilized in a run and gun sort of offense. I don't think he would reach his potential in a half court offense and Yao pretty much is a half court offense.

Wall's outside shooting is actually better than I expected, but unless it was Yao, John and three outside shooters who could open up the inside... it wouldn't be pretty.

If they wanted to go after a more attainable guard that would fit better with Yao they should go for Xavier Henry at Kansas. He's overshadowed by all the John John hype but is a very talented player. Has a quick release, can shoot off the dribble, does great at curling off screens... and he's likely to drop in the draft unless Kansas makes it all the way. In which case, both of them will be unattainable. :)

Of course, it's debatable that Xavier would pass the "headcase" psychological tests that they give the draftees ;) I keed! I keed!

Morey also wants LeBron, but the possibility is slim in that case too...

Realistically, as long as the Rockets remain a mediocre team, game changers are hard to come by. Either we need to be in elite status or clippers status to get a game changer.

I don't think we'd have enough to offer.

Even if the team that drafts first overall happens to have other needs and is willing to listen to offers, I imagine there would be several other teams that could put together better packages.

A rebuilding team probably wouldn't want aging players like Battier and Scola so you're looking at trade pieces like Landry, Brooks, Lowry, Budinger, Dorsey, etc...

I don't think a rebuilding team would give up Wall for all those players combined and, again, even if they were willing to give up the pick, some other team would probably be able to offer better players and/or picks.

The best chance I can see of us pulling off something like this is if we collapse and end up with a top 5 pick ourselves (not that much of a stretch, esp. if we have another injury or something). Then we could start putting players and picks together to possibly make something happen.

john wall is the best PG prospect since chris paul according to many scouts (he's basically a more athletic version of derrick rose already with a better jumper + court vision). so no, morey is not going to be able to get wall. the team who drafts him won't trade him unless that team is really stupid.

i think we'll make a splash next year with a big free agent signing, albeit no one worth a max contract.

Devin Harris is also more attainable than Wall maybe Brooks,Battier and Scola for Harris and Lee

    Our Starting lineup 2010
    Harris
    Courtney Lee
    Ariza
    Landry
    Yao

Now why in the world would New Jersey do that? Why would they trade an all-star caliber guard for Brooks and then trade a young player in Courtney Lee for an older player who won't be around when they're done rebuilding?

That trade at best can get us a low lottery pick. Certainly not the # 1 pick.
We don't have the cap room to sign Bosh, even after letting McGrady's contract expire.

Actually, the T-Wolves did deserve that crap. He told them he had no interest in playing for them and they picked him anyway. Now, one could argue that players don't get to pick where they play - but even still - it isn't as though there were no warning signs that it would get ugly if they drafted him.

Incidentally, where is Rubio playing? Madrid or Barcelona? I lived in Barcelona for six months a few years back. I'll probably spend the rest of my life trying to figure out how to get back there. Meanwhile, if I never go to Minneapolis....

    I am pondering the same.

The Timberwolves may land John Wall. In that case, I could see Rubio being on the block. I would not think the T-Wolves would want to keep Flynn, Rubio and Wall. One of those three would be on the block--most likely Rubio. We would possibly be able to take him for draft picks or some of our other assets. I don't think we'd have the best offer unless we offer Landry, though.

We don't have the talent to acquire John Wall.
