Boy did you put yourself in that category. Let's go ahead and compare that squad to a championship team. That's a great comparison! Plus before 1994, nobody knew Horry, Cassell, Smith, Maxwell or Elie on a national stage. Those championships made their careers. They had done nothing before that season. Thorpe was the only one to make an allstar appearance. Fact is if you go up 2-0, you have enough talent to win 2 out of the next 5 games. Whether you do or not is another story. Tracy has had enough talent to advance.
its a good point, ecxept hakeem is a center and tracy is a guard. A guard is going to have the ball in his hands more than a center. I'm sure if hakeem could dribble the ball up the floor himself he would've. Name one star gaurd in the league now that is highly effective playing off the ball. and is also considered a playmaker. You can't have both. if you're playing off the ball your more likely to be a scorer. in order to be a playmaker you have to have the ball in your hands.
I assume you mean winning basketball by adelamans princeton offense everything moving with out the ball, and espn highlights by the lebrons, wade, kobe, players that basically got to have the ball in their hands to be effective. But the espn highlights are the ones winning the championships, when has adelman offense one a championship?
I didnt start the comparison DaDakota did with comparing Akeem and Jordan to T-Mac. And Jordan nor Akeem couldn't do anything in the playoffs to they got the help from the pippen, rodman, kerr, clyde, cassell and elie. So your point to try to blast me just back fired. The rockets would have not won the series against the Suns if Elie didn't hit that kiss of death three. So we talking about differing to other players and T-mac didn't have that so that was the reason he did too much. So Akeem trusting in Elie, Cassell, Horry made that team better and helped him get those championships. Vin Baker, Sura, Lue would just stand around and watch Yao & T-Mac Stop making your points cause I'm going to bring more knowledge to stump you dude!!!!
You got your Ascot to DD? haha I agree with the decision. NONE of us are at practice to see how he is performing. We see clips of a one-on-one drill and think he is ready to come back and play. Its real easy to play one-on-one for 5 seconds of shooting fade-a-way jumpers. Can he get up and down the court, can he play good defense? Those are the things Adelman and Morey are probably looking for before allowing him back.
His offense has gotten them to the championship. They just happened to face one of the greatest teams of all time when they got there. The kings happened to face one of the best laker teams ever in the WCF and lost on a tip out 3 ball by Horry. Hopefully next year we get him over the hump.
On offense, Hakeem touched the ball a lot and actually demanded the ball quite often until Barkley got here. On defense, I can see your point because of block shots and his double digit rebounding. But the rebounding could also been seen as having the ball in his hands being that he initiated a lot of the offense from outlet passes.
Don't forget about Mad Max going off when the team was out of sync!! Those were the good times!!!
I don't remeber that but I remeber from that Rockets championship tape when Akeem kicked it out to Maxwell and he hit a game winning three and he jumped in the air and everybody jump on him when he as on the floor
lol @ DD sh!tting on tmac's 6apg with "it's not that good considering how many time he's had the ball in his hand." guess you can crap on anything if you try hard enough. well tell me DD, who else on that team had the basic skills to even handle the ball? tmac had the length, vision, defensive attention from opposing teams, and the skill to pass in single or double coverage. that got him 6apg. i should make up a list of myopic statements youve made about tmac
Is your knowledge of our glory years based on a "Rockets Championship Tape"? It's OK if it is, I mean it was 15 years ago.
Not at all but I remember that from the tape....but I was making a point sooooooooo yeah . I don't know the point you was trying to make
Just getting a feel for your knowledge base of the championship years, that's all. Not throwing rocks.
How is the plan unclear? He's practicing. When Adelman thinks he's ready to contribute at the high level McGrady is used to doing, he will play. What is confusing about this?
Tracy McGrady would have averaged numbers not unlike Steven Nash, if Rafer Alston would have had more successful field goal attempts.
Why is anyone surprised by this? Adelman was quite clear that 4 games/5 nights was not gonna be the return of McGrady.
