    This article is a few days old, but I don't remember seeing it posted here. I've checked several pages back and didn't find it. Please lock if it's been posted. (I ran across this article when I was trying to find a website that sorts stats by quarters. Can anyone of our resident stats gurus point me in the right direction?)

    http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/6767449.html

    In the fourth quarter this season Mandry is currently ranking at

    2nd in points scored, behind Wade;
    2nd in fouls drawn, behind LBJ;
    3nd in free throw attemps, behind LBJ and Wade;
    2nd in offensive rebounds, behind Zack Randolf.

    We all know he is playing phenomenal this season, but I never would have imagined he would be this good when it matters the most. He truly has become our go to guy when the game is on the line.

    So what Jonathan Feigen is trying to say is

    Wade+Lebron+Zach Randolph=Carl Landry all-in-one

    :eek:

    He'd be among leaders in 4th quarter FG% too, I guess.

    If he keeps this up, there's no reason he shouldn't be 6th man of the year.

    I agree. The only guy who concerns me is Jamal Crawford. Seeing as, of all active players, he holds the record for going the longest without ever making the playoffs AND he is on the Atlanta Hawks, who are something of a Cinderella story themselves, he could get a whole lot of attention if Atlanta finishes the season at the top of their division.

    I think the Rockets need to consider trading him in. Morey's been owned twice by Landry's agent in the two seasons he had to negotiate a contract with him.

    :confused:
    How so? The first time as a second round pick we signed him to a short contract because we couldn't guarantee he would be good. His agent would actually prefer a longer contract as a 2nd rounder; he had no leverage. Once that contract was up, we only offered Landry the minimum offer to keep him as a restricted FA, and then just waited to match any contract he got on the market. His agent did his job and tried to made it look like he was getting a bunch of great offers from various teams, but he ended up signing a small contract with Charlotte which we matched.

    His agent found the Rockets offer unacceptable so he agreed to an one year deal instead. The Rockets would have liked to have signed him to a longer deal and they have shown a preference of using a part of their LLE/MLE to give their second round picks extra years (Novak, Dorsey, Budinger, and Taylor). $9 million for a second round pick after his rookie season isn't small. Morey got Arli$$ed.

    Yeah, it was Morey who owned Carl's agent, who seems to be fairly new to the business at the time, with Landry the only NBA player he represents.

    We saw a lot of what he had to offer last season with his face up game and offensive rebounding. An offseason later with more playing time and he is much better. #)

    As a second round rookie, his agent was trying to get him a multi-year minimum salary deal. A lot of the second rounders might not even get a second contract. Morey insists on the one year deal and they had to take it.

    Then the summer after, Carl has already gathered a fair amount of attention, but was injured close to the end of the season. His agent was probably looking for something close to the full MLE. He bluffed like there are many teams out there that would offer Carl a full MLE, and Morey just insists on Carl getting his knee checked, and made it clear Rockets will match whatever any team offers Landry. In the end Carl gets a 3 year deal at 3 million each from Bobcats, which is a fair price for a big man that was averaging close to 10 pts in less than 20 minutes.

    We signed him to a league minimum rookie contract his first year, and then ended up signed him to a 3 year 9 million deal. It worked out pretty well for us considering if we had signed him to a 3/4 year contract he would have been negotiating after this season or next and have ended up with a huge contract instead we are paying him just 3 million a year through 2011.

    Landry is a jewel. There, I said it! He's more valuable to me than Scola and Hayes.
