Relax. You're not understanding what he's saying.

He simply stated that players with some college education are generally smarter than those with stand alone high school diplomas.

Emeka Okafar. Finished with a degree in finance from UConn in 3 years with a 3.75 gpa

Shane Battier. Was a summer intern at some i-banking firm after his freshman year because he wasn't sure if he wanted to go into business or be a ball player. Good thing he chose the latter.

I fully understand what he's saying. But if he's going to exclude/discredit players that didn't go to college then wouldn't he have to exclude/discredit the players that left college early as well? You can't say a 2-3 year-and-out collegiate player coming into the NBA is smarter than any high school phenom.

i would have to go with Battier cause he went to duke

excluding the rockets so im not bias... my pick would be Grant Hill or Tim Duncan.

I don't think Kobe belongs anywhere near this thread.

Take away these guys basketball talent. Do they become scientists, doctors, lawyers, politicians?

    Kobe. No.

    Battier, Mutombo...most likely...yes.

i wouldn't put him up on a pedestal for being the cleverest or making the smartest decisions, but Allen Iverson is more thoughtful and witty than people give him credit for. And i give credit to him for being more honest than most in the league.

Nash or Battier. I dunno, I mainly base that on whether or not they say "They played good" instead of "Played well." And have more intelligent things to say in interviews than, "We just gotta go out there every night and play hard, it is what it is." I like that about the Rockets I don't think any of our players are that dumb. :p
