Practice, practice, practice. http://www.hawaiizone.com/wkaraoke.html http://moneo.calodox.org/~ludo/karaoke/songs.html And have fun!!!!
the only two i've ever done were: Elvira-Oak Ridge Boys Baby Got back- Sir Mix-A-Lot. Both were done with a large group of friends
My voice isn't exactly pleasing to most people, so I try and stick to songs that require less vocal precision. Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison blues is one of my favorites.
RM95 et all, You bet it is sad...here is a story I will share. I was in LA doing the computer game E3 show a couple of years ago when on Saturday we went to a place called the Fish Market. It is a trendy Karaoke place. They take their singing seriously, people get there at 3pm in the afternoon to sign up...well my pals and I got there at 4pm and had more then a few pitchers of beer when the Karaoke started at 7pm...they egged me to sign up...so I go up to the gal running it and ask to sign up... She looks at me and says...Honey....you have to get here early to get in this gig....so I bug her tell her I am from out of town and would just like to do it for fun...she relents and says she will sqeeze me in..... So we are partying with this table of girls and I ask one to sing with me, they recommend this one girl and she says OK. They call us up about 8pm ...PRIME TIME BABY !!! I start my bit and it gets to her.....SHE WAS FRICKEN AMAZING...we had a great song had the audience howling with laughter and walked off to great applause. It turns out that she is a recording artist for Geffen Records...her name is Star something...I have her CD in the car. Well, that is not the weird part....the weird part is all night long WHEREVER I WENT..including the Viper room, people came up and bought me drinks and said...it was a great set..... I was LIT...I had a great time..but get real...it was all for fun...I guess my (outlaw will not like this) gay voice is big in LA. DaDakota - and now you know the rest of the story..
mmmmmmmmm bop. but for realz, i sing in the car ALL THE TIME and i know ALL the words to every song! if i dont know the words that they're singing... then i sing the words that they meant to sing.
Copa Cabana by Barry manilow- the latin mix if available also " Can't help falling in love" by Elvis My favorite Karaoke place in Houston is Spotlight Karaoke on Westheimer at Fountainview- small cover, great drinks, the best mix of people. Always a good time there. The owner's grandson had a birthday the last time we were there- a great atmosphere. The owner danced with my wife. We had fun and a headache the next day.
I agree on both counts. Anything Elvis is usually very good for karaoke. I also like "Suspicious Mind" by him! Spotlight is a very good spot. Has more variety of songs than others I've been to around here.
