Absolutely key possesion of the game beetween Cavs and Trail Blazers.

Brandon Roy came to the basket and met LeBron "Dancing Queen" James...

holy **** that is an obvious goal tend. On the way down, i've seen ones way harder to call than that get called on a reg basis.

Good grief when I saw this, I couldn't believe ESPN nuthuggers kept replaying it as a block, I mean its one thing they miss the call, and its not like they're gonna call them out for it...but really?

Appeared to have stopped going up, but maybe not yet coming back down.

    It was close.

Haha i just noticed something else. They try showing it from this angle so you can't see it that well. I'm pretty sure its on youtube b.c the angle during the game was much diff too. Stupid NBA.

From the third camera angle, it looked like it was just coming down slightly.

i dont blame them for callign it a block, its really really hard to tell even if you replay it 5 times.

Isn't it normally goal tend when the ball is above the rim and has a chance of going in?

That ball was clearly above the rim

That's only when it's literally above the rim...for example, there's a shot that causes the ball to bounce off the rim...if it's still above the cylinder it has a chance of going in after that bounce, so you can't touch it. But this shot was still in the air and on it's way to the rim, so it's only goaltending if the ball was touched on the way down.

I think that rule applies to other leagues, but in NBA I'm pretty sure if the ball is above the rim it's a goal tend.

You are saying that every block is a goal tend then since almost every block is above the rim xD

    Lebron PWNED Roy.

Even if it was a goaltend, there is no way the refs are going to call that.

If it's above the rim AND in the cylinder.

Anyway that was a really close on. Personally I can't tell, and I really doubt the refs could, so I guess the no call was the best option.

No way the refs could just award 2 points to a team on a call that close. Just call it a block. Out of bounds, Portland ball. Good call.

Really, really, close. Perfectly understandable to call a block there.

Crazy play by LeBron. Very hard for the refs to call that a goaltend.

That first camera angle looked like a goaltend, but the second one didn't.

And whoever said that the refs would have been blind to miss that call, things happen in fast motion buddy. It is extremely hard to focus on specific things when there are tons and tons of other stuff going on at the same time, and everything is moving so fast.

They can't get every call right.
