One of the things I love about the Chrome browser is that it eliminates the need for a home page. Gives you snapshots of your six recently most visited web sites, and you can click and go or type what address you want. Fast, no delays, no fluff, just usefulness all around. Now that Chrome has extensions, I don't think I'm ever going to bother with Firefox or anything else again. (Except for WebEx, which annoyingly doesn't work for me on Chrome).
Yahoo man here as well. Like to browse the headlines and then go straight to the sports section and check box scores and such.
