Wasn't Shane here before Morey?? wasn't that CD last year as GM when they made that trade?? Im not sure im just asking
Which is basically "you don't have to foul on EVERY possession!" If Dorsey could just get that he could be a real weapon on the defensive end. Voracious rebounder and he's a decent shot-blocker. With a brain he could be a Jason Maxiell or something.
Don't make me laugh. This guy is so overrated. What makes him so special. Please tell me what am I missing.
I know people have this affinity for rudy, but what does rudy do that chase cant do with seasoning? Its not like he's a all world franchise type guy. I think he's a good player, but guys drool over him like he was it and he's not. Before i gave up anything for rudy, i would want to see how good chase can be. From early indications, i think he can be pretty good.
The point was Artest's age. Morey isn't only looking to acquire young players. Mason is playing like a bad contract this season.
landry and brooks have made morey look like a genius. and i should add, morey is looking smarter and smarter every day.
I'd hardly call Caron Butler and or Danny Granger an undervalued player, being that they are THE best players on their crappy teams, maybe someone like Mbenga.
For the guys that actually know and have seen him play will Jermaine Taylor be on the list. Ever since the Rockets bought him I've heard nothing but good things about him but somehow someway he hasn't been on the court. I mean the only time I can actually remember seeing him play was against the Thunder.
he's behind shane, ariza, budinger on ther perimeter. i'm sure he'll play more, but he's gotta earn it by playing better than budinger which at this point he probably isn't, i would like to see him play well.
from the games ive seen him with portland and the spanish team, guy's got really high bball iq. has good handles, very fast, likes to attack the basket, has a decent 3 pt shot and has great court vision and a great passer. all that, getting paid only 1m. spanish team looks a lot better and exciting with him on the floor. im not gonna give up chase for him but id want rudy as starting SG.
Agreed. If I was morey I would try my best to get Kevin Martin. He would't break the system running well until now but will help a lot in winning the game.
Do not want. Granger and Martin are very good examples of Ewing Theory players. Basically, the problem boils down to the fact that they are not efficient enough to be the top dog but they still play that role and it hurts their team. Follow me on this logic. This only works on a team that is superstar oriented, which most of the teams in the league are now. In such a configuration, the superstar must be so efficient that he has to offset the points lost due to his style of play. Take a single play for instance. This play can be played one of two ways. Either Kevin Martin isoes and takes a jumper or the team passes the ball around and tries to get the best shot. Lets assume that everyone on the team shoots 35% FG but Martin shoots 45% FG, the natural tendency is to say let Martin shoot everytime. However, with each successful pass, the percentage of getting a better shot increases. Thing like getting a wide open dunk could happen. So if with every successful pass, you gain an average of 5% better FG%, then the result of this play would be to not have Martin iso the ball. This is the reason why the phenomenon happens where the superstar goes out and the team seems to play better. Its because they are in fact getting high percentage shots.
I guess I misunderstood, I thought you guys were talking about potential trade targets that fit the undervalued players mold. There are tons of players that outperform their contracts, most of them younger... Just look at the Rockets roster for examples. Luis Landry AB Battier To name a few. DD
Bang on. Also, too many people look at silly stats like PPG. Efficiency is everything on both ends of the floor.
Carl Herrerra, in no way would I care for Brandon Rush or Michael Dunleevy on the Houston Rockets. I have witnessed Brandon Rush this season, which has seen new oppurtunities for him, and he has played basketball like a d******d. Michael Dunleevy is a good citizen (Duke) and Shane Battiers closest of friends, but I am unsure of his defence and his ability to be a credible playoff warrior.
