Franchise... MORROWIND: I'm not a RPG guru, but there is a lot of reading in the game. Maybe too much. And the action get's a little repetitive. Those are the bad things. There are many more good things about this game. It's not phantasy Star. It's a very different game. The good thing is this game is open ended. You can go anywhere, be anyone, mix anything, and do anything you want. There are literally thousands of ways to play this game. There are so many stories and missions that, just like in real life, you get sidetracked easily by the smaller missions. Literally. You can take the spoon off someones table if you want it. You can kill anyone in the game you want. However, killing them changes the story for you. Take over there house and make it yours. Whatever. It's kinda cool. They have great water too. It you are a RPG guru I bet this game will be awesome. I had a tough time learning all the role playing verbiage. Like what is the difference between mysticism and enchantment, but it all comes together after a few days of playing. I'm a couple weeks into this game and I'm nowhere near finishing. Maybe I'm playing to slow tho. There is a good morrowind help site at: http://www.forumplanet.com/RPGPlanet/morrowind/forum.asp?fid=4871&p=3
I got SSX Tricky- awesome, entertaining, addictive Also got Bruce Lee game. - many levels - 38 in total. awesome graphics, over 400 moves. I know NCAA Football 2003 comes out July 23, 2002.
This is incorrect. Rockstar was signed by Sony recently to make GTA games exclusively for PS2 until 2004 (at least I think, I can't find a reliable link, but other gaming sites are reporting it . This would be the only reason, imo, to get a PS2. Also, even though the XBOX and Gamecube have superior hardware than the PS2, a lot of games for the XBOX and Gamecube (especially EA games, like NCAA 2003, Madden 2003, NBA Live 200) are ports of PS2 games, which means while they do perform better, they don't take full advantage of each systems' respective hardware. I have a feeling that most developers will take this approach unless they are making a game exclusively for one system. As far as one system games are concerned, I feel like Nintendo has a huge advantage with the Mario and Zelda franchises, and to a lesser extent the Sonic franchise. I got a PS2 for the Rockstar games and NCAA 2003 (but now it's out for all three systems) and a Gamecube for Zelda, Mario, etc... EDIT: another plus for the PS2 is a Sharkport, where you can put saves on your computer (unlimited save space) and d/l saves from your computer (great for NCAA 2003).
i just got the S-controller in a while ago. i really like it. only negative aspect is that the black and white button are on the bottom, so it is hard to press. i got mine for like 25-27 brand new. go to ebgames.com and check the prices. i just saw it around 29.99.
There is also a dinosaur game coming out that looks awesome, and Dead or alive volleyball where the women slowly strip (some reports say they get naked).
Not trying to be combative or anything, but the gamecube has a ton of "mature" type games out and coming out (not just Resident Evil...) I like the prospects of future gaming also with the gamecube platform...maybe that is why I bought it...but I strongly considered the XBOX...I just didn't want another "Jaguar", though I really don't think this will happen (at least, not anytime soon...)
stop being wusses and by all the game systems...then you get the best of everyting...resident evil 0 and soul caliber 2...here i come...
X-BOX has ahuge hard drive. I haven't even put a dent in it. It still says 50,000+ blocks remaining. A saved franchise in sports games takes up about 15-20 blocks.
No offense, but why do these PS2 fan boys gotta interrupt in an Xbox thread? No one who currently owns an Xbox gives a ****. Start your own thread.
I own both an Xbox and a PS2. Between the 2 systems you can have quite the awesome game library. I think the 2 systems compliment each other quite well.
Bought UFC Tapout ($25) and Dave Mirra BMX 2 ($14) at Target today. Would tell if you if its good or not, but I bought them before coming to work.
Smokey- I'll assume you're talking about me. I wouldn't go so far as calling me a fanboy. I wouldn't have posted about the PS2, except that it's the only system that has GTA, which I specifically said was the only reason to buy one. You're right that no one who owns an XBOX cares about the PS2. However, I do think that potential XBOX "fanboys" would like to know what games are and are not coming out for the XBOX, with GTA being high on a lot of people's priority list. I was just correcting an incorrect statement about GTA on the XBOX and then adding my opinion about game systems in general.
Ollie, I am pretty sure he wasnt pointing to you. There were other people just saying "get a PS2/Gamecube" and other things. Its ok man, its going to be alright.
My 2 cents: We've had enough threads of fighting between game systems. I've taken part myself. I'm tired of it. This thread was created to discuss Xbox games, not suggest which game systems are better. I didn't like the turn of the thread and snapped. If someone wants to discuss the merits of their game system, start a new thread. I just didn't like people coming in here and knocking Xbox and promoting their systems whether its PS2 or NGC. If you want to talk about the great stuff coming out for PS2 or NGC, start a new thread. I believe everyone in this thread who posted about Xbox has an Xbox. I don't think "get a PS2" or "should have gotten a NGC " is very cool.
Thanks Smokey for saying that. The fact that Stra already BOUGHT an XBox, makes it useless for other people to say "Get a PS2/GC". Whatever system you have, so be it. It doesnt make anybody better regardless what you have. I know that its a free country and you can say whatever, but to us, those replies seem like post to up your post count.
Dave & Smoke- My bad, y'all are right. I guess I just snapped too. I can see the frustration with the other posts. I just assumed you were calling me out with your post. I should have looked back and seen the other ones.
You all realize that the xbox is being outsold nearly everywhere in the world? THere has never been a market for three consoles---it's traditionally only held two in the end. I fear for the viability of the jaguar/dreamcast/xbox...
