landry plays more like nene while millsap plays more like shawn marion.... landry is the next brandon bass.
So TP and Artest = championship? Back on topic, I think Millsap is still better than Landry, but Landry's getting there. Landry is a better offensively, but Millsap's no Chuck Hayes, and he's better defensively and especially rebound wise.
IF the Rox offered Scola/Battier/Cook (for $) - Bosh I believe the Raps say YES! I don't think I'd make the offer if I were DM the GM. I, for one, do not believe there is substance to the Bosh to Rox 'rumors'.
I think too much people are overating Bosh. He has good numbers, but he cannot bring anything to the team other than that. His team has good players, but is always a scrub team. That tells everything.
Ive watched Bosh play a couple times this season and yall are underrating him for sure. Dude is a beast and has not even reached his ceiling plus people are calling him soft when he is mos defintely not. Hes also leading the league in 20 point 15 rebound games and the Raptors are on a hot streak right now and will be in the playoffs. I would love to have Yao opt out pick up Bosh and Joe Johnson somehow. Imagine how sick we would be! I also see Landry, Bass, and Millsap as the same type of player with Landry being by far the best of the bunch but they all have the same style and build. Nothing against Landry but I could see Bass and Millsap putting up the same numbers Landry is in our offense. Championship 2010-2011 Bosh/Andersen Landry/Andersen Ariza/Battier Joe Johnson/CBUD Brooks/Lowry
Milsap was averaging 20/10 last year when Boozer was out. He is bigger, longer, younger, more physical, and probably plays better defense. Of course he is having a down year after signing a big contract and Boozer is playing so well.
what do you mean the "next" milsap? landry is already a bit better. milsap has been effective only in sloan's system. in other words, if leaving that system, he'd be less effective. otoh, landry's post move and ft % can be effective in any system, not to mention he's got that "g'imme dat" mentality in offense.
Bosh is the only post player I would have wanted that fit into this season's team. His ability to run the floor, extended shooting range, crashing the boards and actually play good post defense. Al Jefferson would be another one, but he is just so injury prone. So if Bosh is signed, I have no problem with letting go either scola or landry or both. If not that, I certainly thinks resigning Landry for his youth over Scola will be a bigger priority for DM.
I think trading Scola and investing and the young talent is wise for the teams future. Scola is getting up there and is in his prime. Great trade value.
I don't think anybody realize this but after Landry's contract runs out after next season, he will not be a restricted free agent because of Morey's bone headed decision to only offer him a one year rookie contract.
Carl Landry is wayyyyy better than Millsap right now, AND he's inked at 3 million a year for another 2 seasons so no way he'll walk unless traded. Should the Rox choose not to re-sign Tmac, in the absence of a super free agent willing to take much less than the max to make up the cap requirements, I think we'll yank Scola back from the free agent market for a much bigger contract than the rookie one he's having.
C'mon man, given the results of how Carl turned up, you back trace and say Morey's dumb. The situation back then was, I'm pretty sure you weren't following the Rockets, Carl suffered some severe knee injury and basically never played in his senior year at Purdue prior to entering the draft in order for the pro teams to assess. Plus he's a 2nd round pick, so there was a **** LOAD OF RISK involved in a multi-year contract, and of course no one could say for sure Carl was gonna be like how he is today. Besides, Carl is still worth wayyyyy more than the 3 mil he's gettin so hush.
