Nachbar's surgery a success By MICHAEL MURPHY Copyright 2002 Houston Chronicle Bostjan Nachbar, who was taken by the Rockets with the 15th pick in last month's NBA draft, underwent surgery Monday to repair a hernia. Nachbar will fly home to his native Slovenia to recuperate. The 6-8 forward will rest for two weeks before beginning a rehabilitation program that should have him ready to return to Houston for training camp, which begins in October. "The procedure went very well," said Rockets trainer Keith Jones. "We will keep him away from activity for a couple of weeks and then will start him on some biking in his third week and gradually work in weightlifting after that. He should be near full speed in about a month." The procedure -- a laparascopy -- was performed at Park Plaza Medical Center by Dr. Mark McBath. Nachbar traveled to Long Beach, Calif., with the Rockets' summer team, where they are playing in the Southern California Pro Summer League, but returned to Houston for surgery.
