They still talk at Golden State about the night Stephen Jackson called out Kevin Garnett.

Garnett, the Boston Celtics star, is a bully. Andris Biedrins, a callow Eastern European center, fit the role of victim. A petulant sort, Garnett wouldn't shut up.

Jackson wasn't in uniform that night. He was too injured to play, a rarity. But he wasn't too injured to confront Garnett. Jackson took a step or two onto the court and told Garnett he could either stop talking or start fighting.

No one seemed surprised Jackson would intervene. The shocker was Garnett's acquiescence; he shut his yap.

"I knew Biedrins wasn't the type of guy to mouth off to Kevin Garnett," Jackson said. "And I wasn't going to let him punk a young teammate."

That's what defines the newest Charlotte Bobcat: You love it that Jackson doesn't back down. You hate it that he doesn't know when to back down.

I doubt Earl Boykins can reach high enough to b****slap KG.....But he can always kick KG's kneecap and end that punk's career.....KG is a loser....Couldnt win in Minny until joining Pierce and Allen....He shouldnt be punking anyone bc Shaq, Duncan, Kobe, Dirk, Amare, Mailman and a variety of other great players used to kick him where it hurts in the playoffs and made him like it at the same time....Lost respect for his sorry azz

Why were they surprised that KG shut his pie hole when someone actually stood up to him? He has made a career out of yapping off and then running away like a little w**** whenever someone actually challenges him back.

He made it to the western conference finals and was MVP, for goodness sake. If he's a loser then so is Yao being that he has only made it to the second round and has no MVPs. I understand that you don't like him but let's be honest here. KG is not a loser. He may have been on losing teams but he isn't a loser.

I would agree. He is going to be a HOF.

    Yao... not so much.

Who cares. Both players are troublemakers and they are both bullies in my eyes. KG does it on the court, and Jackson does it in the stands.

I just don't understand why people hate KG so much. Some years back I worked for a company called Sports Travel Plus. We handled the travel arrangements for about half the NBA. I met every player on every team we handled. I would meet them and greet them personally as they arrived at their hotels. With the possible exception of Dikembe Mutumbo, Kevin Garnett was probably the most courteous player I met. He was very friendly. He was very down to earth. He expected no special treatment (and there are some guys who aren't even in the rotation that can't be said about). And most impressive to me - after very briefly meeting me once, he remembered me the next time he saw me and greeted me warmly. He is literally the only player I can say that about.

    I just don't get it.

Now Vince Carter on the other hand....

Man, SJAx has had a scary life so far.
Very few would last in his place, though i hope few have to go through that.

Justifies his character a lot, but I like that last paragraph too. He really is out of chances. Needs to cool down and play safe from now on.

Yes he was a MVP and yes he is a very good player, but it doesnt mean he wasn't a loser. GREAT player are determine in CRUTCH TIME with a playoff game on the line with couple mins left....Minny teams that finally got out of the first round, spreewell and cassell were the closers....in bean town, pierce and allen were the go to go at the end of the game.....Dont get me wrong, KG is a very good player during the regular season and the first 46 mins of a elimination game in the playoffs.....KG is a choke artist in the clutch...but he did pass the ball to ray ray and pierce against the hawks and cavs during his coat tail championship....

Yao is a very good center but he also played some really bad games in the playoffs....but yao doesnt punk other players around once he finally win something and ignore rookies who are just amaze to meet the great KG like what he did to hansbough and the other indiana rookies.....Classless

I don't know about you but I think KG is a great cRutch time player--he never stops deferring big shots to his teammates.
