hey gets I am trying to set up my ps3 to read a drive that I have connected to my router.

I have a belkin F5D8235 N router that the PS3 is wired to and I have a USB external hard drive connected to the router.

I can easily access the drive from any computer in the house connected to the network, but the ps3 is not recognizing the drive.

The drive is FAT32 the ps3 picks up the drive right away if I connect the drive directly via USB to the ps3.

Anyone know of anything i need to be doing in the network settings, do I need to install something on the ps3 or the drive itself?

Just want to make it so I can just send over media to the drive and then watch it on my ps3 i rather not wireless stream the media the distance is far I would prefer a hard wired solution for stability.

I am not sure but do they make a external enclosure with two usb 2.0 outputs? seems like they wouldnt but just thought maybe

I'm not certain, but I don't think it's possible Yo yo. I think in order to read network drives those drives need to be attached to a machine with an O/S on it. Like if you connected that drive to a computer on your network then you could share it to your PS3, but I don't think it's going to work just as a NAS connected directly to your router.

crap I think i know why it wont read it

when I connected to the drive on my PC as a mapped drive it showed that it was being read as a NTFS drive (even though the drive itself is FAT32)

the router has things built it so that it can be read but I cant access those settings through the router admin page to change it to show as a FAT32 drive instead of a NTFS drive

I guess I'll just have to switch back and forth between the two, its not a big deal but just a slight inconvenience thats all.

Don't you need something like Twonky installed on the OS of the NAS device?
