When I'm not on this board arguing politics or basketball, I run a theater company called Infernal Bridegroom Productions. Heypartner comes to pretty much all of our shows these days and RockHEAD's been known to show up as well.

This Friday we open the seventh in a series of wildly popular original musicals known as "Tamalalias."

The Houston Press called Tamalalia "one of the few really cool things about summer in Houston." And the Chronicle wrote, "There is a cult developing around Tamarie Cooper and her zany Tamalalia series."

    For info, go to www.infernalbridegroom.com.

These tickets go fast, so reserve early. People of all political persuasions welcome.

woo hoo! I already got my tickets for opening weekend!!!

If you like campy theater, musicals and just general wackiness, the show will ROCK!!

If it helps sell tickets, Tamarie loves the Rockets! She even incorporated the evil Utah Jazzholes as villians in a previous version of Tamalalia, that was a hoot...

Thanks for the support, rockHEAD. Let me just say here, even if you don't usually like theater, this may be for you. According to our surveys, more than half of our audience almost never attends cultural arts events except for our shows.

Hope to see some of you there. If you make it out, ask for Jason (they call me that there, I don't know why) and introduce yourself.

What if you don't like campy theater, musicals or general wackiness... will the show still rock?

Yes indeed, Juan. The show will still rock. We put a special emphasis on theater for people who hate theater. We can't help it if people who love theater come too.

By the way, as of today opening weekend's already sold out (and it hasn't even been in the papers yet). But the show runs through Aug. 17. Call 713-522-8443 for tickets.

They're only $10-15 for more entertainment at a lower price than any other theater in town.

    freeflowin',

Call 713-522-8443. You can charge by phone or just reserve the tickets under your name and pay by cash, check or credit card at the door the night of the show.

I figure spam's uninvited advertisements. But since other posters (mostly heypartner, but also others) have posted promoting our shows, and other people have posted promoted things they're involved with, and since this IS a hangout forum, I wasn't too worried about it. Hope you'll make it out to the show. Would love to meet the real Ninja Sauce in person.

You seem like a cool guy. I'd love to come out.

Doubt you'd like to meet me. I'm as bland as...yeah.

You'd be wrong there friend. I like all Rocket fans. Specially cc.net'ers. If you make it out, be sure to say hello. I'll be the one with the tiara.

I guess my promotions didn't produce too many tickets sales, so I lost my job, 'eh. It's not spam if someone else posts it though, remember.

It's also worth it just to discover the Axiom (a classic music venue of old) and see some of the development going on South of Minute Maid (boy, I just can't get used to that name). hmmm, an afternoon baseball game and a Show afterwards...now that's a creative date. You listening Holden? :(

The Axiom does have a bar for afterwards, and people do hang out after the play.

Try it. You'd be supporting a one-of-a-kid Theatre Group with a lot of talented homegrown actors and directors. One of the actors is responsible for reviving the Axiom (with quality air-conditioning), and continuing it as a music venue.

I would have posted something earlier but have been having computer problems all morning. Anyway.

Batman_Jones's theater-Infernal Bridegroom Productions has a national reputation. I just moved back to Houston from New York, thank God I finally made it, and when I was telling my friends in NYC about the move, the name of Batman's theatre was brought up almost every time. Among those directors and producers in NY who aren't heavily concerned with 'commerical entertainment' but something more compelling, Infernal Bridegroom has a great reputation. It truly is a local treasure and if you go you will be richly rewarded with an experience you aren't going to find anywhere else or be able to buy off the shelf. And for $10-$15, you really can't go wrong. It's artsy without being pretentious and fun without being shallow.

    :) :) :)

Gosh, thanks Backwardhead. Nice to hear they're paying attention out east.

And heypartner, you will never lose your position as our bbs promoter. Promote away. I thought you were on vacation's all.
