The main reason I am getting a Mitsubishi is their financing plan of 0 payments for 1yr and 0% financing for 5yrs. This line is new for 2002 replacing the Mirage, it comes standard with power locks/windows. The bumper to bumper warranty is 3/36 and the powertrain is 5/60. The car gets 24/30mpg. It has very good crash ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. This car is in the same class as the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic. The base price on the high end model OZ is 16,397. When I add the spoiler, 6 disc changer and stainless steel exhaust tips it is only 17,267. The dealer has one priced at over 18,000 and I want to negotiate with them. They are charging 595$ for a spoiler that only cost 360$ on Mitsubishi's website. With the financing option I am choosing, I don't know how much I can haggle, any good negotiators here? I have spoken/visited/test drove with Streater Smith Mitsubishi in Conroe and I am contacting Gillman Mitsubishi on Rankin Rd now to see if I can get a better deal since they are a bigger dealer. I am looking for thought/advice on this purchase. If anyone has used the dealers above or knows about the financing option it would be a big help.
