The wrestler most recently known as Umaga has died today, he died here in Houston where he lived. Suffered a heart attack and then had a second at the hospital. To those who watched him will agree there probably was not a more atheltic 300 pounder in the world. As someone who had met him personally last year he was incredibly down to earth and humble. Also he was the cousin of The Rock and Yokozuna. RIP Mr. Fatu.
He lives down the road from me in Spring. (Which DD says is the slums). Shelton Benjamin is his neighbor, btw in case you didnt know.
In his honor, I will post his greatest moment, legitimately beating the crap out of Steve-O after he no-sells his staged wrestling movies: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/BspSiI2psf0&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/BspSiI2psf0&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Yeah. I saw this news earlier on some websites. They're gonna be here Tuesday for Smackdown. He's a part of the famous Samoan wrestling family. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anoa'i_family Wouldn't shock me if it was Drugs.
I just saw him in Melbourne a few weeks ago in action for the Hulkamania tour that came down. Mad. Another wrestler dead.
What's so funny? According to Wiki... Articles posted by Sports Illustrated, the New York Daily News, and The Washington Post during the weekend of August 30, 2007, named Fatu as one of a number of superstars to have purchased pharmaceuticals from an online pharmacy,a violation of the WWE "Talent Wellness" program. Fatu specifically was said to have received somatropin, a growth hormone, between July and December 2006, after the "No drugs from online sources" rule was instituted. Fatu violated this rule again in 2009 and due to his unwillingness to seek rehabilitation, was released from his WWE contract. Anyways, RIP.
What's up with a lot of wrestlers living in Houston? I also know Torrie Wilson, former WWE Diva lives in The Woodlands. Does Booker T still call H-town his home?
I believe Torrie came to Htown because she started dating someone who was from here. She grew up in Idaho. Booker grew up in Htown. Htown has always been a wrestling haven, dating back to the Mid South and Paul Boesch days.
Shelton Benjamin lives down here. Undertaker is from here, but I think he resides in Austin. If I recall, he was at a Houston Rockets game and introduced him. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_68oaQdJYPM&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_68oaQdJYPM&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> This was from Vengence 2007: Night of Champions. He was working as a heel at the time, but the fan wanted him to kick Santinos ass some more, and kept chanting ONE MORE TIME! Whos youtube channel is that? Come forward. You have Rockets related crap on there.
RIP... Very sad. So young. Very talented. I remember when he was part of Bischoff's "Three Minute Warning."
