Yeah, those were the glory days of Nigerian football. Rufai, Yekini, Oliseh, Okocha, Amokachi ...

To be honest our team has looked really shaky during qualifying, but so has Argentina. Anything can happen in that group, really ... it's the biggest tossup of all the groups.

Yes, the class, they are the highest ranked team in that group are they not?

I know you have a major hard on for Mexico, but you can at least acknowledge that France is the highest ranked.

    SHEESH.

 You're saying that... a team that BARELY MADE IT into the Finals... in a PLAYOFF spot... by ILLEGALLY scoring with Thiery's hand as an assist... is "the class"?

Bwahahahahahahahaha!!!! Whatever, mister businessman. We'll see. =))

You and your silly "class" crap are a joke. I wasn't the one who came in here saying "Mexico is the best in BLAH BLAH group", so don't tell me I have a "hard on" for anyone. I respect other teams only when they beat us out right.

Off screen Karl Malone tackling Clyde Drexler.

Or the 1979 AFC championship game where Oilers' receiver caught a pass at the back of the endzone but was called out of bounds when replays showed him more than a foot inbounds. One of the plays that led to having instant replay in the NFL.

Group B is going to be lots of fun.

    Brazil/Portugal...yikes.

Good draw for the US. Can't ask for a better one unless you're greedy.

You know what is a joke, taking 1 games result and thinking that is an overall indicator of how good a team is.....

You will respect France because they will stomp the green right out of your team.

Damn Serbia gets put in a tough group yet again...Ghana and Australia are more than solid and the Germans are the Germans. Last time was a more messed up draw for us though (Netherlands, Ivory Coast, Argentina). No excuses this time though, let's get it done.

Now that I look at it closer, Spain, Italy and Netherlands do get free rides.

But I still fully expect Argentina to advance. They'll get the act together by next summer.

I know you think that the world thinks Mexico is so super awesome but poll any neutral observer and they tell you that France is the class of that group just like England are the class of Group C. That being said, both the US and Mexico should advance.

Also, don't think that by saying France are the class of the group that I want them to win. I seriously hope your tricolores and South Africa go through.

in the opening game of the 2009 confed's cup, SA (ranked 86) vs. Iraq (88) ended in a 0-0 tie. In their second game they beat NZ (77) 2-0. Their 3rd game, they lost 2-0 to Spain (1). The same Spain team the US beat the the very next game.

SA finished the tournament with 1-0 loss to Brazil (2) in the semifinal and lost 2-3 A.E.T to Spain (1) in the 3rd place game. Their 2nd head to head match up in less then 3 games.

So their overall record in the 2009 confed's cup was 1-1-3, with 4 GF and 7 GA for -3 GD as hosts. Nothing great considering they were the host's.

    Now for 2010...

i think mexico can win that opening match against SA. 3 points to start gives you a great chance to advance.

Last MX-URU match up was last copa america 2007, mexico defeated uruguay 3-1 in the 3rd place match.

So analyzing the group i really feel it will finish France (7th), Mexico (15th), Uruguay (19th), SA (86th). This would match their respective fifa rankings which i think is fairly realistic.

well we beat them two times 3-1 in Algier, then we lost 2-0 in Cairo (players were harassed by egyptians fans) and then we won the final game against them in Khartoum, Sudan 1-0.

We rest confident even though we now what USA is capable of. WHen it is the world cup there are no easy games its all about current form on players, tactic match ups and tat the key players rest healthy!

WOW France got lucky lol. I could see them losing to Mexico though and eventually being upset by SA. However, in the end they'll pass.

USA has a very very VERY strong group. England is going to beast. Slovenia shouldn't be an issue but they can upset any team to be quite frank. However, the toughest team will be Algeria. These guys have a HUGE momentum going right now. Its there first qualification since 25 years, I really doubt they will want to go play, on there continent, to go home early. They will have a huge crowd and will be the toughest team of the group imo. I'm a USA fan, however its going to be decided between them and Algeria, the hungriest of both will go through.

WOW, GROUPG!!!!!!! Damn that one will need to be looked at closely. Ivory Coast is the best African team out there, and Portugal is a top notch nation when Ronaldo is healthy. Brazil of course needs no presentation. I see Brazil and IC getting through, early shocker/exit for Portugal.

The other groups are pretty balanced IMO with at 1 the top notches then the 2nd place being close for everyone.

not if the fans actually injure the players other events before the game in Cairo also happened that really bothered Algerias preparation for the game....
