I agree, that block by Lowry was awesome. He practically jumped over that guy to block it. That play really keyed the run to win the game.
If you re referring to their TV announcers, that would Bob Fitzgerald doing play-by-play and Jim Barnett doing color. I really like Jim Barnett... a pretty low-key and unboiased analyst. He played many years ago for the Warriors and I believe the Knicks. Really smart player and he does a great job describing the play and the intrincacies of the game. He also calls it very straight. I'd compare his style to Bullards but with more technical info and less homerism. Fitzgerald is another story. He is also a talk show host in the Bay Area and where he is pretty good at that (tho also seen as a bit of a know-it-all and pompous, think Charlie P without the edge) he normally gushes about any positive the Warriors do and either ignores or makes excuses about all the bad things. Warrior fans will make fun of all the excuse-making (a typical example would be "Well, if it weren't for the fourth quarter the Warriors would have won the game last night"). They deride him with the nickname "Giggles". He goes as far as avoiding any criticism of the team on his radio talk show. Think Marc V and the Texans... then turn up the PR knob to 11). His history with the team is also a source of criticism... he replaced a very popular Greg Papa and many believe backstabbed his former friend in the process.
Good win for the squad. Shane had a presence in the game and that what i always talk about. I don't need a formula or metric to see a guy impact a game, i can just watch like i always do. Shane played and was involved period. Good for him, good for the squad.
I saw it in him a few times in that game on a few rebounds and rebound attempts. It got so bad, the announcers were confusing him with Landry at the end of the game.
This was a very strong come from behind win for the Rockets. It was on the road and the second half of a back-to-back. I really like this year's Rocket's team. They may not be strong enough to make a run at a title, regardless of whether it is the NBA title, the Western Conference title, or the Southwest Division title. But they are our guys regardless and I would not trade them for anyone. To the 2009-2010 Houston Rockets: I salute you!
His radio show is with Rod Brooks who is an ex-Houstonian and HUGE Rockets fan. Rod was at the game last night sitting front row. I met Rod when I first moved to the bay area and was covering the Sprewell vs. Carlisimo choking press conference. I introduced myself to him and the both of us had just moved to the bay area and we talked about the rockets. We laughed about how we both had been use to seeing great centers such as Hakeem and Moses and now we were going to have to endure watching Dampier's joke of a game. Anyway listen to their radio show today from 12-3pm PST online. http://www.knbr.com/pages/inner/listennow They will talk a lot about the game last night. The sports shows here are just ripping Nelson for the loss last night.
Congratulations to Battier for such a great game and a well deserved Player of the Game award! This was well overdue, as it has been along time since Battier showed his talent like in last night's game. I was almost ready to trade him!
