When did Tiger become black? I could have sworn he said he was not Black but Cablasianeerjhfgvbklserfgvbefgvuisbs or what ever. Rocket River
nooooo this would be huge if it was Peyton manning, A-Rod, or Steve Nash. The whole tabloid story, car crash, not talkign tot the police thing blew this up no matter the celeb name. Being the biggest name in the sport just blew it up like an H-bomb
We have 4 voters now who could explain how race might have even a little bit to do with it, and no one has offered an explanation. Could one of you please help us out a little? Inquiring minds want to know.
That's a joke right? She wouldn't have even been in that position to have Kanye do that if she wasn't already America's little Pop Princess. And the answer is no. It's just another sports scandal. It hasn't even been a week since this started. It'll die down before you know it.
Well, you can click on the number and see who they are. To the credit of the 3 voting for the last option, it is a very safe thing to say "perhaps to an extent." That's always true, and probably more true than those (like me) who said absolutely and positively NO -- no role, zero.
Yeah, I know who they are; they just haven't explained the position. I can understand not wanting to explain, because they'll probably get unjustly flamed. But, I do sincerely want to know.
Roger Clemens has faded a ton of heat for his affairs, but I don't hear anyone complaining that it's because he's white. Popular athlete/celebrities, tons of money, best in their respective sports, and put on a pedestal by our crazy society and obsessive media. Therefore, we must tear them down after building them up. It's just what our society does. We would do it to anyone, regardless of their race.
I usually respect Wilbon's opinion but he is way off. There may be plenty of instances where race plays a role in how America views a public figure but this isn't one of them...and there really isn't much of an argument to support such a wild claim to begin with.
No, it seems like I remember a lot of interest in Bill Clinton's extramarital affairs. Also a lot of interest in some of Brad Pitt's doings
That doesn't sound like something Mike Wilbon would normally say. He always tries to downplay any race component during an argument (on PTI).
Sometimes espn analysts will take a controversial stance just to keep things interesting. Wilbon is more likely to come down on the side of color blindness on any topic.
