I don't have a lot of money, but can save up some money to hire a personal trainer in April.

A good personal trainer should not socialize with others, while on my dime.
A good personal trainer should provide instruction and advice on correcting form, instead of just saying do 20 squats.

So how much will cost to hire a good personal trainer in Houston?

    Any reccomendations?

A good personal trainer should be sound in body and mind.
A good personal trainer should focus on the goal.
A good personal trainer should be intense, but not too intense.

I'm looking for one as well does anyone have any recommendations? I've read the 24 hour PTs are all about pushing product and not that effective.

Savannah Boxing Club $200 a month

    2 hours a day 5 days a week, can't beat that

My trainer is Hylon Williams Sr. his son is a pro and nearly made the Olympic team last year. There is no conditioning like boxing conditioning it will get you in the shape of your life (that's without sparring which adds another dimension but it's not for everyone most people just do the conditioning to get in shape). Contact me if you want more info.

I'd go with the crossfit if you truly think you need a PT. I go to LA Fitness and the trainers there seem competent enough, though if they arent engaged with someone, they're usually loafing around.

I can recommend some people, but it depends on what part of town you are wanting to work out in.

No offense, but I've done crossfit, that is the definition of guys who just tell you "do 20 squats".

Very few of them are certified instructors, they are "crossfit certified", which means they went to san diego for a week and took a kettlebell class.

I charged $70 or $75 an hour when I did personal training full time. It was a bit pricier than other trainers at my gym by $5 or $10 per hour so I made sure I gave my clients a little bit more. I gave my clients a shopping list from the HEB by the gym with all the food listed by isle, brand, calories, carbs and fiber content, meal templetes based on their basal metabolic rate and what caloric goal we set to eat per day, food recipies, had my clients email me their meal diary daily and tought my clients something new every time and emphasized a maintainable lifestyle. Took pictures, did measurements and such. I had woman and her daughter lose 106lbs and 89lbs as my two best success stories. Definately tough to find a good trainer as I've seen a ton come and go at my gym alone.

Crossfit is a great program if you have the right trainer. Same goes for Kettlebell.

I do Group Training at Lifetime Fitness by Willowbrook
Its a bit cheaper that 'Personal' training because your in a small group.
You dont get as much attention and hands on as you would with a personal trainer.
But you also get the added push of working out with a small group.
Some people are more motivated with partners.

All the time I see people with personal trainers looking at us while we are getting a good work out, and their trainer is looking at their watch.

The trainer is excellent, and may even let you come try it for free.

    Email marialuisa707@hotmail.com
    Tell her Bryan sent you.

No offense taken and I'm sure some Crossfit affiliates can have trainers that give the workout of the day and be done with it, and thats why I recommended the one up in the Woodlands.. trainer at CrossFit the Woodlands isn't that guy. He knows what he's talking about and cares for his clients. Its a great work out enviroment with people always pushing you to get better and I would recommend it to anybody who wants to really get in shape and have fun doing it.
