Simple Poll. I did this a couple years ago with the Steve Francis situation, the numbers then were very interesting to say the least. Lets give it a go with T-Mac. He isnt playing, though claims to be ready. The organization says he isnt, and will play when he is ready. Some fans agree with the team, others think they are doing T-Mac wrong. Others think its personal between Adelman and McGrady.
I think they just want him to be perfectly healthy and practice with the team for a while before they let him loose on the court. Shouldnt be too much longer i hope.
He wants to rehab in games and they want him to rehab in practice before he messes up their rotation with his I'll play every other game until I get well type drama he pulled last year. This year they are making the decisions the last decision he got to make was when he opted to quit and have surgery and told the media before telling the team. Darryl and Rick are putting the Team first and Tmac wants to put Tmac first so he can get another contract at the end of the year from some other sucker team that thinks he still has it.
Not another one of those thread. Tmac claimed health last year before he was in and out of the lineup. He has mid season training camp and claimed yet again he was better than ever and that's few weeks before he declared season ending surgery on his own. Rockets and the coaching staff trusted his claim and allowed him to play back into "game shape", the whole team suffered from inconsistency of the daily lineup change. It's not going to happen again this year. Morey and Aldeman will make sure of that. TMac will play when Aldeman decide that he is in NBA ready, but so far like Aldeman said, Tmac is not ready to play in the game.
Just because a player is "ready" to play, it doesn't mean it's unjust for the team to not play him. Brian Cook is "ready" to play, and it's perfectly just for the team to not play him because that's what's best for them. Carl Landry is "ready" to play at the beginning of games, and it's perfectly just for the team to not play him at the beginning of games because they believe that's what's best for the team's success. Allen Iverson was "ready" to play and "ready" to star, but the Memphis team decided it's in their best interest that he didn't. The point is whether a player is "ready" to play, it's whether playing this guy, in the team's hopefully well-thought-out opinion, is in the best interest of the team. As for "lying." Why is it "unjust" for teams not to say what's in their best interest, whether true or not? Teams do it all the time-- denying trade talks all the way up to a trade happening.
Ah, you bring up rotation issues. Certainly it's possible I guess if he was ready, just wasnt able to crack the rotation at the 2 or 3. BTW, I was just throwing out reasons I had read in other threads about potentially why he wasnt playing. Personally I think he's not ready to play. I would be very surprised if he is ok healthwise but just cant crack the rotation with the way Ariza and Battier have been shooting the ball. @RV6: Man, I checked a ways back, but certainly dont remember it. If so, lock this one up I guess. No need for redundant polls.
I'll be very surprised if he is still on the roster come April and hasnt appeared in any games. I think he'll either play or be traded by then.
