    i voted david andersen,

i like his offensive game and think he is a good fit for the quicker moving gameplay the rockets have assimilated now. Did you guys see him shimmy/dream/kangeroo shake off 2 thunder players in the wing and hit a turn around jumper? that was SWEET...

plus he's starting to knock down the 3 more often; its not a bad thing as some people say we need to be able to have a unit (bench?) that spreads the floor once yao comes back. The last few years once yao was fronted it was GAME OVER. we had NO other options since the rox wern't used to the fast gameplay they are using now.

When Yao comes back we can use David as a versitle C who can spread the floor and actuall RUN with the 2nd unit.

If we are talking about from day 1 of this season, I think it would have to be Andersen by a mile.

Landry was already a very good player coming into this season even if he has improved even further.

Based on efficiency/PER from last year:

    Hayes - 7.8 to 14.3
    Ariza - 15.5 to 14.4
    Landry - 17.7 to 22.9
    Lowry - 14.4 to 15.0
    Brooks - 12.9 to 14.8
    Scola - 17.0 to 18.4
    Battier - 10.7 to 11.1
    Cook - 7.6 to -11.5 (yes, that's a minus)

I'd say that Landry's improvement is actually more impressive than Hayes ... it is hard enough to put up a PER of 23, let alone do it with a massive increase in usage rate.

I've always liked landry's explosiveness, but he seems like a more complete player. You can tell he's really been working hard to improve his game. The man is developing into a beast.

I voted Andersen. I do agree that Landry has improved since last season, but remember when he first came into the league? He was dunking on everyone like he is starting to now. Also he has developed a nice mid-ranged jump shot.

The reason I voted for Andersen is that this is his first year in the NBA. At the beginning of the season he wasn't playing well at all, I personally considered him a bust (I know that it really was too early in the season to tell, and I realize that now). Ever since the Lakers game in which he dropped 19 his improvement has been impressive. Even though he hasn't been scoring that many points, his technique has been improving and he is adapting to the NBA style of play. His offensive game could become the spark the starters need when Brooks and Ariza are having a poor shooting game.

Andersen's defense is also improving. This first really became apparent to me in the games against Dallas where Andersen was on Nowitzki. He was lighting everyone up, except Andersen whose size and length seemed to give Dirk a bit of trouble.

To sum it up, I see a lot of potential in Andersen and I believe if he keeps up his improvement he'll be able to replace Chuck at the starting spot.

Is this improved since beginning of last year, since end of last year, since beginning of this year, since beginning of their rookie year, or since end of their rookie year?

Landry has found a consistency this year that just wasn't there a year ago. And his post game looks to have matured quite a bit. I'd say him.

That said, vets usually won't improve much in the middle of the regular season, especially when we're talking just over a stretch of a month. So the most improved since the beginning of the season could actually be Andersen or Budinger.

Depends, are we talking about compared to last season? If so, then Landry. If we are comparing over the course of the season, I say Andersen. Andersen and Budinger cant really be on the list if we are comparing with last season.

I like Andersen on offense. if you give him an open jumper, he will knock that down. And when he is in rythm, he can make every shot from the outside. Game @ LA was a great example.

He still doesn't have 3pt range (he has make some, though) but that will come. But what amazes me the most is his creativity on the post. He seems to be right on the money on his turnarounds and fadeaways. He has been making them even with a lot of contact.

He has his problems defensivly and he will need to get stronger next year. Also, his shot selection needs work.

But so far, you gotta love LANDRY!

That will come... He's doing a real good job of adjusting.... Usually takes Euro guys a full year to adjust. He's on a real good path speed wise..
