The insults are based on your actions. Please explain why you disappear when UT does well and only chime in when you have something negative to say? In the A&M game last year, you said at halftime that texas wasn't impressive as they were halfway to winning the most lopsided game in the history of the rivalry. You specifically go out of your way to talk trash about UT. I didn't say they were "fine upstanding young men". Don't make stuff up. I said that your assertion that they were criminals was factually wrong. "Mack recruiting the criminals in order to win games" This sentence is wrong. I asked you to find these records or news clippings linking these kids to trouble and you obviously can't do that. News flash, people drink and people smoke weed. It's not like there is disproportionate % of people who drink and smoke on the team compared to the general population. If you think that kids at other schools don't smoke weed, you are incredible naive.

Please see this post found in the D.J. Monroe thread. Obviously, UT is not the only school with this problem. You dismissed it as "a data dump of one-off examples" but if you actually clicked any of the links you would see that the majority of powerhouse football school in the country have the same problem as Texas. If you want to criticize something, criticize society. We are now programmed to pretty much worship athletes, and I'm sure these kids have been celebrities since middle school. I know the football stars in my high school were given preferential treatment, and our football team sucked. Most of the kids who get recruited to the big time schools were absolutely dominant playing for schools that probably were very focused on their football programs. A celebrity life at the age of 15 can often lead to stupid behavior that carries through into college. Now, Mack's job is to put out the best possible team he can. So he goes out there and pulls the best players out of the state of Texas, all with clean records. (Seriously, please find me proof that Mack has ever recruited a player with a record.) These 'celebrities' sometimes are idiots and make stupid decisions. You criticize Mack, but please again, show me any proof that Mack gives out punishment less than what a player anywhere else in college football gets. So what's Mack to do, texxx? Either he has to randomly guess which players will be morons when they get to campus (as none have records, of course, so there's no way to tell) and risk "not impressing" you with the talent level. Or he can recruit the best talent in the state, and dish out the punishments as they come. Again, I am not condoning these actions and I am very glad Monroe and Davis are gone for the year. But if you take off your anti-burnt orange goggles for a second you will realize this is a problem across the country. I agree that this is an issue, and I hate that there is certainly ammunition to throw at the 'Horns, but the problem does not lie solely in Austin, Texas. But I would never expect you to acknowledge this, of course.

They might not have records but I went to school there and I know for the most part these recruits are clowns, kids in a grown man body. It's all about winning and hey we accept it!
Not saying that what this one student did was acceptable in any way. Neither was the DJ Monroe situation. Just pointing out that there are skeletons in everyone's closet.
