I wish you and your families all the best! For me this occasion is a reminder of how important sacrifice can be to having a successful family. Try to remember that there are few, if any, things which are worth losing your family members over. Here's a link to a brief explanation on Eid al-Adha .
Gotta agree with you here. Now we gonna have every masjid congested. Parking is gonna suck. Eid Mabrook to everyone.
Yep, it just isnt eid without going to GRB/Reliant... I guess it will be nice being able to sleep in and not having to drive across town.
I believe he's an old wooden ship. Famous for his conquests of the Spanish peninsula in the 17th century AD.
but the idea to have prayer at each individual masjid was a good idea after all. went for the 9:30 salat and it was empty
An interesting coincindence that Eid Mubarak is at the same time as the US celebration of Thanksgiving.
Thanks for the warm wishes. Just a little clarification though, "mubarak" basically equates to "happy" so you do not need to say "Happy Eid Mubarak" because that is repetitive. That being said, Eid Mubarak to everyone!
Pardon my ignorance, but I remember wishing someone Eid Mubarek (or rather Eid Al Fitr) about a month and a half ago. What is the difference between the celebration a month and a half ago and the celebration today?
The first eid, Eid ul Fitr, occurs after the month of Ramadan (The month in which Muslims fast) The 2nd eid, Eid ul Adha, occurs the day after the pilgrimage of Hajj. Eid al Adha is the one in which we sacrifice animals and have bar-b-q's
To be clear, Eid ul Adha is in commemoration of a story that practicaslly everyone from the major religions should be familiar with- the test of Abraham and his son, Isaac. Many people think that it is linked to Hajj, but it is not. Eid Mubarak everyone!
